Hmm a question? Why does my fancy pants Garmin say I burned 2,347 Calories on my 63 mile ride today but Endomondo says I burnt 4,169 Calories on the same ride when all the data including my stats i.e height / weight are the same? Answers please!?!

Links to the ride on each tracker;

hmmmm!

    Because both are poor estimates at best. Without power meter Calories are difficult to estimate.

  • Out of the two figures i,d say the Garmin was closer,over 4000 calories for 63 miles seems a bit too much.

    Endomondo always seems way over for calorie estimates. There must be lots of fat people out there that are using it to track calories and wondering why they're not losing weight....

    Theo, as a quick guide work on 500-700 Calories per hour, on my old Garmin 705 it would have said that I had used 3000 over 60 miles, whereas my new Garmin 800 would say that I had used nearer 2000.
  • Thanks for that! I figured 4000+ calories was a bit excessive and dont worry I wasnt working out exact calories so I can go gorge after my ride lol!. Think I'll pay more attention to my garmin! ta!
