To be honest I was up for this and meet a few of the regular crudders for a thrash....unfortunatley my plans have been scuppered somewhat in that the bloody inlaws are coming up on Friday mid morning and as the missus is at work I have to be here to entertain them icon_sad.gif

I know we cover the length and bredth of this great isle (and godforsaken wales) so perhaps we should knock up a "crudders ride calendar" we can strategicaly choose rides throughout the UK where we can all get to such as the great Llandegla (as it's near me) and alike...whatdayathink ?

Also respect to Kaiser for spending over two hours in the car for a date with bails...

hahaha - not riding till friday so should be fine

its running sweet, todays ride went well, new brakes are 10 times better than the old ones and i've finally got my seat position sorted and starting to get used to riding a hard tail again!
Also respect to Kaiser for spending over two hours in the car for a date with bails...

its a strategic visit, gaz is moving to wales so i get to be further away from him, ever since the incident of 99 we struggle to be that close!

    see you at ten

yep this should be fine with me :D either way i travel i'll have a lift there in t'morning, probably parked at marquis so will ride to swinno's, going with another group who will most probably bugger off exploring, get lost and find bugger all in terms of decent trails, so i'll scav a lift off them then shoot over :)

if i could get a lift to a near by train station after that would be sweet, other wise i may have to cut things short, like i say, im not sure on the plan of the others yet, but i shall be there for sure :)

To be honest with you I was really looking forward to meeting up with a few of of you...

projectsome said he would look at a ride calendar so we can have some advance warning of rides that can be accessed by people in different regions (North West, Middlands, South Wales etc...) would be good to put a face to an avatar !

    i was there today

was tres muddy. I went over the bars on a new bit i havent ridden before. Turn left bout half way up the hill after the big crossroads on the monkey trail. Was like a mud bath. Tyre dug in over a drop and i went straight over.

does anyone know how to get to the parking area at the base of the Monkey Trail ? i.e. where you cross the road after the railway crossing. Lots were parked there today and TBH i could happily leave FTD for two runs round the Monkey.

The little side trail that was literally a mud bath? That bit was so much fun.

To get to that carpark take the A460 from Rugeley towards Hednesford (or the other way) it's the main road between the two towns. The carpark is just off that road, you'll realise when you get there. Or if it's easier, from Birches Valley head right out the car park, right up the road (Penkridge Bank) and turn right onto Post Office lane (the first right). Turn right at the end onto Slitting Mill Road, then follow this to the end and turn right onto the A460... carpark is on your left after a few hundred yards.

    .

what bike were you on? there was someone on an ibis (white) that I thought I recognised

Fun times riding with all today it really shows what a laugh can be had in the rain

Nice now to be able to put faces to names or scaring to knees in your case Rich :)

We will have do do a meet in the Peaks when the weather improves

Happy in my Hotel with all todays riding clothes drying on the radiator.

i wish it was me on the Ibis, but alas no. I was riding my trusty Spesh FSR XC. I was the one who looked like he'd taken a mud bath down one side (after going over the bars)

was good fun until i went over... but yeah, good fun and much better than going straight on

the mud made it a much different trail in places, but i still managed all of the rock gardens i chickened out on last time :D

next time, im doing the black sections...

    cheers for the directions

Those black sections are a laugh. Twice in a row now I've been OTB in exactly the same spot, in fact today I managed to predict that it'd happen before we even got to it

Thanks for the ride everyone, even if the weather did get a bit grim by the end. And special thanks to Angry Bird for keeping us entertained with his acrobatics!

Has anyone got the details for the Crud ride calendar? If so, can you PM me with the info, ta!
