None of the (clean) bikes in this thread seem to have any cable rub or any protectors on the cables. Are all the head tubes heli-taped then? I would have thought a white frame would show up cable rub big time.

I know a bike is for riding just a bit worried that it would start looking tatty a lot sooner than another colour. Silver for instance.

A friend rides a white Tomac similar to AC's with white Magura double arch forks, looks great, it shows up the mud really well confirming it's no garage queen........

Mine too... couple of metres of stuff on the dh bike for uplift/crash protection! Bit less on the trailbike but still quite a lot.

  • I have a white cube, absolutely no problem. Just get some hot water and soap and it's like new! I keep the mud on the mudguard as trophies though...
Very funny Scotty, now beam me down my clothes.

Does that look like a bike that needs cleaned to you?

    Yes.

On topic, there is no problem with white bikes. Cable rub is more related to the type of painting process and lacquer used, than with the actual colour. Also, wouldn't cable rub be more recognizable on black bike, than on white? :)

My bike is white and it has rubs and scratches that show up pretty badly and ingrained mud stains that won't clean out, some of which appears to be manure. It looks like it has been used, and I like that.
