Cushions on the other settee!
Weighs about 10kg - not superlight (going to knock another 500g off with new tyres and tubes), but a tough, dependable build.0 -

Just under 10kg, but the outer cabling and spacers will knock it up. New tyres, tubes, 11-32 cassette and XTR shifters are next!0 -

Really nice, Zaskar's look great, something about the triple triangle I think! I've not ridden one but can't understand why they, and GT's in general, aren't more popular?0
-
A set of Sids or DT Swiss forks could save you some weight.
I would have also thoguht a set of Formulas would save some weight over the Hayes and also offer better braking.
I have got my HT right down, but I am thingkin of fititng a dropper seat post!0 -
Lots of alternatives will save weight, is all about cost ;-)
I paid £40 for the Reba, and £70 for the Hayes Carbon.0 -
-
That was the stinger, was £600 in 2008. But at the time was the cheapest carbon HT frame you could get from a UK dealer with full warranty, and certainly the only one that could take up to 130mm forks.0
-
I remember when you bought that. Wasn't it via Wiggle?
I was hugely tempted myself.2006 Giant XTC

Yeah, Wiggle had them at a nice reduction. Is my only ever 'bought with the heart' purchase really, but in the end was worth it!0
-
Mr Toast bought one too. I think he broke his. I remember all this because it was a tempting deal at the time.

His went in the same place as the surface crack appeared on mine, hence I was a bit worried.0
-
Me likes. Would have looked better in black but still looks nice!
What cranks are they?
My fork is black...wanna swap?0 -
I think I'll keep it ;-)
Cranks are Truvativ Noir carbon, with 10 speed rings fitted. I'll put a full spec list up in a bit.0 -

Damn.
Never seen them before, they look quite nice.0 -
Nice bike, nice spec......just Nice!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

In an about turn I am 'downgrading' it! The 10 speed mech, shifters and cassette are out, to be replaced by old XT M750 shifters, my trusty M952 XTR rear mech and a new 9 speed full titanium cassette!
Reasons? I prefer the old feel of the shifting, and the cassette is a whopping 200g lighter!0 -
I wouldn't dare ask how much that cassette cost!
How heavy is it....my 9speed 11-34 XT is 296g, I don't see even full Ti being 96g so assume your 10 was a fair bit heavier!
Sounds nice though.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
the claimed weight on my 11-34 xtr ti cassette is 255g...but for 10speed...i could weight it?0
-
Using an 11-36 PG1050, so 360g. This is 159g!
Also getting some ti axled pedals that weigh 170g, and some Rocket Rons. Should knock in total about 600g off!0 -

Unbranded classifieds special lol.
These are the pedals:

Done my research, pretty sure are that weight and have ti axles, and the platform is not too small either.0 -
To be that weight the axles would have to be Ti!
2 minutes research suggests you are right http://www.rockbrosbike.com/product-info.php?proid=2540Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
Well they have arrived! Definitely ti axles. Platform is of course small and I am not going to use them over more challenging terrain. But I'll give them a go for more leisurely rides.0
-
More new pedals, on test. 250g for the pair, ti axles.0
