Doesnt impeed viewing but have to scroll to the right to se the forum.0 -
Im on 2560x1024 - at work i have dual screens at this resolution, I use something called splitview to just size windows to one screen. I remote onto a virtual machine using mstsc /span so my desktop is the full two screens worth.
Edit, just looking further and the framework of the forum is on the left and the body of the post moves to the right, funky stuff.0 -

Good skills, if you want me to test or screenshot anything else let me know.0

Love it... there's always going to be unrest with change. If this was the original style then no one would complain as there would be nothing to compare it against in terms of BR's forum of course!
That said everyone's opinions are their own, and mine is positive! I'm not a massive computer geek, i use them daily, am 28 yrs old, did a degree using one begrudgingly, but after that it's just boring to me as i'm a hands on engineering country bumpkin from the lakes! Worlds smallest violins at the ready...
So - i'm getting there - my two penneth! On the forum's classifieds, wanteds etc... and in general when posting on the forum, there used to be an option to 'EDIT' your post...? I can't seem to find this now, which again could be something to do with the above paragraph i hasten to add... but on the off chance it's not there - CAN I HAVE IT BACK PRETTY PLEASE!?!?!??!?!?!?!?
Cheers all, Hodgen.
Ps. If you want to take the "hope sh1t shifter" out of me, by all means do so as i find it hilarous that people love wasting their time at such a thing. I think i have an "idiot troll" pressing these keys!0 -
Well lookey here... this thread has a little edit box,... i've listed some stuff and posted a few replies on the road classifieds and it certainly doesn't have this box present once submitted! Cheers!!!! I'm off for a lie down now after such a bulk of typing!0
-
The edit function has been removed from the classifieds. If you want to advertise more goods, or ammend a mistake, just post a reply in the thread.
The reasons for this are to protect buyers: if a buyer purchases an item, then the seller edits the ad, they could scammed.0 -
Interesting - i'd not thought of it like that... guess it's the country bumpkin way of life coming out in me... best go lock the doors in case i'm burgled tonight! It is raining for a change (the lakes have to come from somewhere) so that may put the wolves off tonight!
That said - i DO agree, albeit begrudgingly - couldn't there be an option like that of singletrackworld's forum where the poster has 15 minutes to amend their post from creation prior to it becoming 'locked out'!? This would save a lot of extract hassle in my opinion.
Cheers.0 -
Not sure, one for the pros on here to look at!0
-
Haha,.... +1 for the country bumpkins across the land then - Hazzarh! Ah well, i'll leave it with you. I'm off to polish my shotgun... no not like that, i mean in case the wolves do strike! Ouh Argggggh. ;o)0

It's called 'Subscribe Topic' now (can't remember what it used to be called), so that may be where the confusion lies.0

Sorry can't get it to work properly with Windows mobile 6 or 7
I can open pages but everything gets overlaid with blue cross hatching. Old forum worked just fine. This one not so.
Looks okay on the desktop. sorry the blue scheme not to my liking but minor gripe0 -
New format seems fine to me and now renders ok on the various combinations of OS and browser I use. The only thing I miss is the recent posts thing on the front page of the main site. Can we have that back please? Being a commuter, roadie and off-roadie it's nice just to see the summary of current discussions in one place rather than going into each sub-forum.
Apologies in advance if i've missed this feature somewhere.

Well done for sorting IE browsing folks! Still don't like the new look, very early learning centre, but it now works as it should so I am content. And thanks for all your effort.Uncompromising extremist0

Me too - I cant use the forum without the 'show new' option.
Another gripe is that when I get emails telling me there has been a new post on something I have subscribed to, I used to be able to click on the link to go to the new post without logging in. This was great because I could see the new stuff on my phone when out and about but when I got back to the laptop in the eveing I could still pick up any other posts during the day. Now I have to log in and read it, but then later on my 'show new' has lost everything else that happenned during the day.0 -

Hi, any idea when? Also, would it be possible to put in what section each part relates to (Road, MTB etc)? Ta very much.0 -
I notice the whingeing is dying down a bit, isn't it amazing how difficult people find it to cope with change?
Here are a couple of tweaks I would still like to see:
- The huge bold print subject line at the start of every post - can't you just lose it?
- Still waiting for the "new posts in forum" option
And a couple of technical glitches:
- smilies still not working (either IE9, Chrome or android browser)
- Problem on android browser (galaxy S, stock browser): when posting, the text box tends to jump around, frequently putting the cursor off screen. The only solution is to zoom out to ensure the whole box is on screen, which makes the font almost unuseably tiny.0 -

That's some attitude you've got there... The techies have put a load of effort into fixing the problems the site had on relaunch, therefore the "whinging" from people who found it was broken has died down. Nothing to do with "coping with change" and everything to do with their hard work to fix the faults.Uncompromising extremist0 -
When images are included in a post, if they are too large to fit within the post 'box' I don't get a scroll bar so I can scroll to see the rest of the image. Tried on Chrome and IE8.
Apologies if this has been asked before or if I'm just being a numpty...More problems but still living....0 -

No, I'm talking about all the "I don't like the colours" nonsense, so any attitude is directed against them, they know who they are. The rest of my post was intended as a dispassionate list of things that I would like to bring to the attention of the team, mostly I think they're known issues already, and anyway just my opinion and I'm not getting hot under the collar about it. Sorry if that came across the wrong way. As a part time geek running a network of 40-odd machines I am well aware of how much techies do behind the scenes, and my post was not intended to criticise the team, it was intended to criticise those who criticise!0 -
Fair dos, apologies for being overprickly then!Uncompromising extremist0
