i've got x9 on my bike and i've had nothing but problems with it..so yes, i'd definately replace it with XT as i've had no problems at all with the SLX on my other bike!!0 -

I have the XT 10 speed, I was very surprised how much better than the 9speed XT it is....
In fact, the XT 10 speed (2011) shifts a hell of a lot better than the XTR Carbon (from 2010).0 -
Just got some new XT brakes for £135 posted! Didn't come with fixings or rotors but they don't over here either and they'll come in at about £200.0

I've had a few test rides on bikes with Shimano stuff now, and TBH I could live with either. The XTR on that Whyte 146X was luuuuuuvely though 0 -
