Hello ,
I was given a route by a mate who lives down that way and its a hilly ride but great , covers both cheddar gorge and burrington coombe . its called the standard mendip loop .
Do you have a garmin to upload a route into ?I may be slow going up but i will pass you going down !0 -
No! I decided you have to go up the main gorge bit too!
Try variations or whatever on this.

I would definitely recommend Burrington coombe. If you were to cycle from the bottom of Cheddar to the bottom of Burrington and back you'd get about 20 miles with quite a bit of climbing. The scenery is stunning as well so doing a there and back ride shouldn't be too boring.0

+1 to this route. I've mapped it using ridewithgps so you can see the elevation. Last time I rode Burrington they'd resurfaced it using the method of chucking a load of gravel down so if you do go down it take care.
