Used to be the Seashell in Lissom Grove, but I went there about four or five years ago and it was terrible.

Had fish and chips in Whitby recently. It opened my eyes to what F&C should be like............heavenly.

    ^^ Fryer's Delight. It's pretty good.

Used to quite like the one at the top end of Leather Lane too - just opposite the newly opened Craft Beer Co. Now there's a combo. :D

Can you still not get mushy peas or curry aside down there? Or is that a northern myth?

Certainly in sunny Aylesbury you can get Mushy peas, which are God's own invention and make fish and chips complete

    "Curry Aside"????? WTF is that?!?!?!!?!?!?!?

It's just a hill. Get over it.

    The Magpie Cafe?

I know this'll have the Northerners up in arms but I think Masters Superfish is as good (but you get bigger portions oop north).

I like Fryer's Delight too. There is one near Kings Cross called The North Sea. Thats pretty good too.

That's the Rock 'n' Sole Plaice. And yes, it's pricey, but pretty good chips.

Will have to give the one on Leather Lane a try. Prefer a pot of tea with my fish n chips though to a pint.

You been to King of Falafel. Bizarre place... serving up falafel next to shelves of bog roll and toilet duck... its great though.

Yes, Iceland. Around 15 years ago I lived on Dartmouth Park Hill, halfway between the Whittington and the Lord Palmerston. Before that it was just behind the Shepherds on Archway Lane at the top of the hill. At the time, there was a kebab shop in Tuffnell Park that won second prize in the Evening Standard best kebab in London competition. Also back then the Dartmouth Arms was run by a Stoke fan landlord who used to bring out Staffordshire oatcakes at half time when showing Stoke games.

    Happy days.

    Neat poetry
Refresh my mouth, sweet clear ooze,
    Clear the burden of grease.
    Revitalise my buds, acerbic gush,
    May the flavours never cease.

    Humble egg plunged so deep
In a glass jar, full to the brim
    Of clear vinegar, come hither,
And into my mouth, get in!

Onion breath, I can withstand you,
For in other ways do you please me.
Revolting stench, a minor side effect,
As I indulge in the great accessory.

    Green-pimpled tower, I love you!
    The greatest pickle of all.
Endowed with cleansing power so great,
    Lipids around you do fall.

Refresh my mouth, sweet clear ooze,
    Clear the burden of grease.
    Revitalise my buds, acerbic gush,
    May the flavours never cease.

I never knew that was there. When I was in that area I went to the SH1T HOLE on Half Moon Lane. Eurgh.

Whats that one in East Dulwich. After my son was born my wife stayed overnight with him and I had F&C from there (Emily's I think) with an expensive bottle of red from Green and Blue and the fryer gave me my meal free. Nice guy.
