I see Liz Hatch, US pro with Honda Lotto, is guesting a couple of training weeks in Denia where she lives - now that's a saddle that many would like to follow on a 4-hour ride.

Obviously it's a money-making venture, but just as little on the expensive side. Shame- as it would be perfect timing for me. Just be finishing my track season and transitioning back to road.

I would love a week of riding that area. 8)

Question is - how many could actually follow her- I think she'd leave a lot of blokes standing (and I mean way behind - nothing else ....

OK there are flights to sort but £90 a day full board with a guided/planned programme doesn't seem over the odds

If its Train In spain that are organising it'll be good quality stuff after my experience with them at quebrantaheusos in june this year, but my dad was aYorkshireman and 90 quid a day still makes me wince!
  • Maths isn't my strongest point but 550 pounds for 7 nights = 78.75 pds a night, not 90. According to the website that covers airport transfers, your own 1-bedroom apartment, breakfast and dinner, 6 days of guided riding with support vehicle and, last but not least, Liz Hatch.
    Sounds ok to me.
  • You need to also factor in the bail money for potential arrests - eg. excessive leering or public indecency walking about in lycra shots with a constant hard on.

By comparison, I'm getting 7 days in Majorca with airfare, hotel and food for £250. OK, no support vehicle - but that's not worth the extra £450 (by the time you add airfare with bike to their cost).

But Liz Hatch might be worth the extra

Yeah that's about the airfare inc. luggage and bike for me so can't believe it's not subsidised and if it is then grats but hardly relevant to the thread... As for the actual OP training camp, does seem a good deal to me.

Price is based on two people sharing.

Flight (on a Tuesday) from East Midlands airport to Palma = £150 (includes one bike box). I fit all my stuff in the bike box and a carry on so no extra luggage charges.

Hotel Roc Leo in Majorca (on beach near airport). £200 TOTAL half board (breakfasts and dinners). So half that cost is £100 per person.

Not subsidized. Add in extra like taxis and lunches, etc - it's still a very cheap trip!

Are you not taking a bit of a risk that they will not make you empty all but the bike from the bike box? Great deal though.

Erm, no. Trust me - I've done enough travelling in the last 2 years (usually with 2 bike boxes) to know how to deal with the airlines!

Nevertheless, I may book an extra suitcase between my buddy and I just to make sure. I've also learned how to travel light!
