Granada is a great place (don't miss the Alhambra!)and you've got the grim Sierra to go at for a day or two. Not sure about the weather/temps that time of year tho'.
All the roads around the places you mention make for nice riding - but take a map - I met quite a few lost Brits out of the white villages :)
Me & hubby stayed in Alora (train out of Malaga) for a week and rode most days last week in February but it was a bit cool for us - warmer on the coast.

Somewhere like Costa Blanca cycling or Vamos in Andalucia might work. Plenty of climbing in the area Vamos cover

I second Granada. It's a fanatstic city with great riding nearby. Can get a bit nippy in winter but nothing too extreme. My ex was there in December a couple of years back and her tutor got very excited as a couple of snowflakes fell: it happens every 10 years or so.

The most practical way to get from Malaga to Granada is with the bus (which tends to be full) which would not be possible with a bike or two. Apparently most people don't use the trains, but I'm sure it must be possible.

I'd move there tomorrow if I could.

We DIY our trip - cheap flight to Malaga and then B&B found on internet in Alora. Lots of places - Hostal & pensiones - and apartments have very low season prices....
  • Many thanks for all of your help.
