Advice sought on training and rehab

I'm in for a knee op next month and will be laid up, well I'm not sure how long for. My worry is I've shed 3 stone over the last year n a bit and allied to not riding nor running for the foreseeable, what can I do to try to keep it off?
Obviously diet and supplements come into it but I'm at a loss as to what I can do physically to stop the tyre re-appearing!
Any tips?
