Aye, they weren't called "the long chew" for nothing.

That's made me think of Curly Wurlies - and I want one now...
  • Whatever happened to [u

rl=http://www.aquarterof.co.uk/texan-bars-texans-p-1139.html] Texan bars[/url]? ..... and why didn't it happen sooner? Lost a tooth to a texan bar I did but as the slogan went "a man's gotta chew, what a mans gotta chew....":(

I liked Texan bars as a kid - there was something industrial about them - they weren't gone in a flash like, say, a Flake.

    I like Double Deckers too.

I agree about American chocolate too - foul stuff.

+ 1 to all of this, mint kit kats were tosh too - tasted of chemicals

Hershey's Kisses, or in fact just about any US chocolate. Tastes of sick.

    This.

I actually like crappy yank chocolate. Kisses are nice, and peanut butter cups are my crack. Girradelli squares are nice too.

Anyone remember Gold Bars? They were mingin, I don't know what was up with them but they're probably the only chocolate bars I've never liked.

    Mmmm.... Salty chocolate...

I could never see the point of Blue Ribands, the chocolate was too thin to be any use, Breakaways and Clubs demonstrated how it should be done.

Loved Fuse bars during their short life.

+1 to fuse. I was also partial to Star bars.

Blue ribands tho' - does anyone under the age of 70 buy them? And why do pensioners keep them in biscuit tins? They're in a wrapper goddammit...
  • Yorkie Bar - started out good but got improved to become horrible like sour condensed milk mixed with cat sh!t (I imagine)
Agree about Blue Ribands - designed to disappoint
Can you still get Drifters - I liked them?

Hershey anything. I saw "Empire of the Sun" at an early age and when a colleague went to the States, I got her to bring some back. No one in the office ate more than one. They were utterly vile and tasted of sick. Utterly minging.

Mind you, I quite like "Oh Henry" bars - they're American aren't they?

Regarding UK chocolate, Snickers are so sickly they make me yack pure Hershey.

Big shout though for Coop own brand Fairtrade choc, particularly the crispy rice version - utterly lushtastic (and cheap)

It's just a hill. Get over it.

I must be the only one who prefers chocolate from the US. I find the British stuff far too sweet and foul tasting to be honest. Revels are about the only UK chocolate I eat.
