I used to drinka lot, young squaddie, add Germany posting= pisshead for 8 years.

Now, on occasion, birthdays, anniversary and even then, no more than 3 or 4 drinks. Don't miss it very much which is surprising as i do like it, just seem to have switched off from it, really. :)

Drink beer in a pub and wine at home. Mrs S G and I are trying to reduce our intake but it probably averages at five bottles a week between us  We do aim for A F D's at least once a week but that is honoured more in the breach.

Cannot stand tinned beer. Tastes of metal and I heard that the coating in the inside of the tin has a weird affect on bivalves :?
The older I get the faster I was

I'm a student, every time I go out on a night out 2-3 times a week I drink roughly 22 units and just have a couple of pints of cider most other days so definitely at the top of your range if not over...

I used to easily polish of a litre bottle of vodka on a Friday night. But gave it all up about 4 years ago.

Now I drink a few times a year - the rest of the time it just messes with my training. And I don't miss it that much.

The odd pint now and then - probably no more than twice a year.

Never been much of a drinker - raving was my thing from 16 onwards, and that was never an alcohol scene - so never ever grew any beer legs.
  • I enjoy beer, alot. Not voting cause I have no idea what my average, but I assume it's not enough.
  • I know I drink too much to be really competetive - I am therefore going to drastically reduce the beer intake. We have just had 3 weeks in OZ/NZ with the rugby and have put on a few kg's.... A visit to the Speight's brewery in Dunedin didn't help....!
  • Wow - an amazing breadth of intakes and perceptions! Alcohol consumption sure is a subject a lot of people grapple with....

    Remember Andy being led astray?

Not sure if it is a genuine quote - but i'm sure i've seen O'Grady reported as saying something along the lines of "me going out and getting smashed of a nighttime during a race has never been an issue before now - so can't see what all the fuss is about"...
Put me back on my bike...

  • I like a drink, not for the effect of the drug but because I like the taste of alcohol. Wine, lager, ales..all offer great pleasures

I drink a shedload, and to be fair it probably isn't a good idea, but I train equally as hard. I still ride faster than all my mates, and totally destroyed an older (40something) chap on a TT bike over 30miles riding in Norway last week
