Most (if not all) countries do special kit for the Olympics. It might just be to do something different, but also might have to do with Olympic guidelines on sponsor logos, etc.

The Olympic kit is different from the regular GB kit. Check out the stuff they used in Bejing. I think there are also specific rules for that as well. They can only use three colours, for example.
