I don't how people can say that there are no tough climbs here in the UK.

That sounds a bit like the "the ten best burger bars in the world" or "the ten best tattoo artists"... it's a magazine feature... obviously they can't put ten climbs in the Andes as it would make no sense to the readers. If they have an audience with a UK presence, then there has to be a UK climb, even if it's only a 300 mt bump in the grand scheme of things and even Bulgaria or Armenia might have a a dozen climbs which are harder, none of them featured. If the TdF was to go up it, they would probably rate it as a 3rd cat climb, 2nd at best.... which makes it a third or even fourth tier one, 'mfraid...

the article doesnt say the 10 hardest climbs it says 10 of the hardest climbs and it says number 8 on its list is 20th hardest in the world, so in my opion its just a very stupid article which really is just listing 10 hard climbs, and not providing the 10 hardest ones in the world hence why hardknott pass is included.

I can't take an article seriously that uses a photo of Tourmalet for it's entry on Col du Jandri.

I don't think anyone is saying that there are no tough climbs in the UK. Hardknott is a flipping hard climb for sure, and certainly one of the toughest in the UK.

But a day out in the big mountains will almost certainly be tougher than a day out in the UK.
