I take my 'best' bike out all the time in winter- I haven't got a winter bike. It's there to be ridden so why not ride it :D

I will ride it, just not in extreme conditions ;)

    Got to watch those SL's!
  • Hi Uncleiven,
How tall are you and what size did you get your Foil20?
I have been wanting to get one for myself but am comparing Scott Foil 20 vs Giant TCR Advanced both 2012 model...

I'm 170cm tall. what do you recommend for Scott Foil?

    Appreciate some insight.

Maybe not in high winds eh?

  • Lovely bike, I saw one at my LBS (I brought a CR1 Team a month ago). I'd be afraid to take it out of some of the roads around here, just look at it.

How do you find it? I bet that thing is snappy as hell.

    I am 5'8" and got the 54cm M frame

Its a perfect fit to be honest. I came from a M Giant TCR 1 Compact last year which looking back was too small, I really should have got a ML Giant!

I haven't looked at the 2012 Giant stuff tbh!

lol yeah, SL's don't like heavy cross winds!

Hi Uncleiven, So you are 173cm and you are getting a M(54cm). I was planning to get a S (52cm)...you think it will still be ok?
i havent have a chance to test or ride the bike yet. still not avail in bike shops.
  • I honestly would like to say, you could still be ok with a 54 but you are best looking at the geometry setups for each bike size.
  • Not a massive Scott fan but that is lovely. The Cosmics set it off too.
Lead, Follow, or get out of the way...

    Ribble Gran Fondo
    Shimano 105
    CSN Superleggera XL50
    Speedplay X2
    Met SineThesis
    Sidi Ergo 2
    Garmin 705

  • What are the wheels like in cross winds im thinking of getting some but some people say they act really badly, and others say you dont notice much diffrence.

Really nice bike is it matt black or undirectional carbon?
  • I haven't really been in any serious cross winds tbh, though with the bigger surface of the wheel then naturally you will probably feel some movement in the bars.

If its windy, then just be more careful with your grip, it doesn't strike me as a concern tbh!

    Its a matt black/grey finish :)
  • Few pics after her clean from todays ride :)

  • Geat looking bike, I'm hoping to order one either at the end of the year or the start of next.

    What bottle cages are those?

    Thanks
  • Cheers mate, you will not regret getting one!

I think they are called Scott Pro, I could be wrong though. They are the brand new ones.
  • That is sheer bike porn ;-)

    A truly stunning bike
  • Thank you :)

Crackin and that's the first comment i've made about a bike, i've just had a look at the Premium model and put the kids up for auction on Ebay within seconds of seeing it.

I use it from a distance just to blast off the dirt in the hard to reach places.

I have never had any issues in doing this way.

Now that is a truly fine looking machine. I could waste a whole lot of time just staring at it.

Cheers again for all the comments.

It truly is a fantastic bike both visually and to ride. I have some winter wheels coming this week as I took it out on Saturday and I didn't like the state my Carbone's came back in :(

    Haha, thanks :)

Yeah, the wheels aren't the best and it has made the bike look totally different but the frame is so no nice on its owns it makes up for it.

The carbones are all wrapped up for Winter now and they aint coming back out until next year ;)

Thats some bike, I'm considering getting one, that's the foil 20 isn't it? Is there much difference between and that and the team issue model? Is it just in Matt black?
