26" wheels and old school MTB stem on a 'road bike'?!

    WTF?!

  • Looks like a nice set up  . I haven't seen brake levers that low since Sean Yates was racing.

a lightweight 700c alloy frame its extremely aerodynamic and great for travelling at faster speeds.

Looks like the description was written by a work experience Muppet who knows nothing about bikes.

    I suspect it's standard 700c wheels.

    Still looks bloody awful though.

Or someone used to mountain bikes. In which case, the frame is extremely aero and faster than an MTB.

I might get one, you know, for shits and giggles.

Tesco is wrong on so many levels.

    Anti-competitive.
Blows independents out of the water.
    Unethical.
    Treat their suppliers like sh*t.
    etc

I went into the Extra in New Malden last week. Never again. It's a factory, deeply unpleasant to shop. The place was full of shoppers looking like they'd lost the winning lottery ticket.

I'll stick with independents and Sainsburys I think.
  • It features racing wheels with spokes...whatever will they think of next

Looks worse than my Carrera. I mean, we slate Halfrauds but come on, surely they're preferable compared to buying this POS?

I wonder how many people will buy one and be put off road bikes for life.
The only disability in life is a poor attitude.

hether you’re going to be travelling up hills or on level ground
No mention of going down the other side of the hill you've climbed.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
  • I saw a similar model 'road' bike in our local Tesco, drop handlebars with grip-shift gear changer. Ridiculous or a stroke of genius :?

Some of the reviews are funny, 'tyres popped off rims'

The shifters are downtube shifters if you look closely enough at the photograph.

Interestingly (to check as the details on Tesco's appear to have been written by a seven year old) I checked the Muddyfox website and they are too embarrassed to admit the Blades existance - but do sell a £399 version with Sora.

Muddyfox was one of the big premium mountain bike manufacturers back in the 80s weren't they? Bloody hell how they have fallen........

But it doesn't have a "Giro Electric Headset", so I won't be buying one
  • One of the reviewers (who gave it a 3.0) said they had to have the pedal bracket replaced. What's a pedal bracket ?
I ask that question pretending I know what a Giro Electric Headset is

    Yes, yes it does matter.
Chances are 48 people tried one of those, thought "well this is sh1t isn't it?" And took up fishing instead.
  • Googled Giro electric headsets and the only links are to tesco.

    This bike has them :-

  • And it has stunt pegs. I think this bike is obviously the dog's whatsits.

It does look like it can be retro-fitted with Shimano's Di2 groupset though. That's got to count for something, surely?
