any reason you're waiting for the '12 reverb?0

The problem with the stealth posts is that you'll not be able to remove the post from the frame without some serious faffing around. Having lived with a reverb for a while now, I love it as a post, but the cable design is flawed. TBH given the choice again, I would take one without the remote and not have to faff with the cable runs. Once someone comes up with a good post that has an external remote mounted around about the collar on the non-moving part, then I might consider buying again.A Flock of Birds

adrenalinemunki wrote:so can I just confirm about this matchmaker thing... the MMX on the reverb would only be of use if I had SRAM shifters? i.e. of no use to me and I should search out the oh so elusive "standard" version?
I think the MMX version also has a standard clamp, or put another way, my reverb has a standard clamp and an MMX one.A Flock of Birds

Now to play the waiting game, god knows when it will be released...
Thanks for your advice guys, invaluable as always
You shouldn't expect the Stealth version to be available anytime soon, if that's what you're wanting. Reports so far say they'll only come OE on some Scott and Trek bikes next year, which have the appropriate hose-routing for them.0 -

Thank god Im not alone!!0 -
No it's not the Stealth I'm waiting for guys I know that's specific to some Scott and Trek bikes... Its the one mentioned here with upgraded pipes and hydrolics (and a different colour collar):

Doesn't fix the basic cable issue, but has some nice features. For what its worth, I find 125mm to be plenty of drop. Can't really see you'd need more.A Flock of Birds

I think I'm definitely going with the 2012 reverb when it's released but interestingly Giant have entered the arena with a pretty smart looking drop post called the "Giant Contact Switch" for £170!
Just a heads up incase people are interested... It is mechanical and only has 100mm drop but the cable attaches at the rear and MBR gave it a rare 10/10!0 -
Lapierre have one on the way as well, apparently. And the Fox FUDD is probably close to market (nb- may not actually be called the FUDD but it's not far off it)Uncompromising extremist0

Well I've just fitted a Reverb to my AM, so am off to try it out. £230 for the bleed kit version form Swinnertons at Cannock Chase - was only £158 after a credit note, so it felt cheap.1994 Clark Kent F12; 2004 Mount Vision; 2011 Canyon AM 7, 2012 Canyon Torque FRX 6, a unicycle and a Brompton.0

Well it was quite good. Quite hard to fine adjust while riding though. And I crashed because I was fiddling with it and stuffed up the line into a drop and had to avoid a tree.
I think it'll be good, but will take some getting used to. I'm starting to miss my nice simple bike. Propedal, adjustable length fork, adjustable post, all too much sometimes. Worth it when coming down though!1994 Clark Kent F12; 2004 Mount Vision; 2011 Canyon AM 7, 2012 Canyon Torque FRX 6, a unicycle and a Brompton.0 -

Now just got to find somewhere that sells the 30.9 / 420mm RH Black Anodised version, I've found it in silver but it's all about the black for me!
p.s glad they scrapped the standard/mmx differentiation0 -
Done and dusted, should arrive tomorrow... will update when its been given a good few hours of abuse0

Well... fitted it tonight, no problems with the install... needed to bleed it but that was no problem at all, also couldn't install at the left (upside down) like I wanted, simply not room...
Went out for an hour to test it all out and I gotta say its absolutely superb! For me its great to see an obstacle and then just drop the post in the flash of an eye so I can get down low then explode into a nice (and importantly, full) bunny hop
Seems really well built and gives a very smooth, and very adjustable raise / lower action... The saddle clamp is as good as I've seen and the hose is decent quality.
All in all over the moon, so thanks chaps I didn't even know these existed a week ago
p.s. there are two things in the pack I'm not quite sure what to do with... one is a small metal block about a cubic centimetre in size with holes in (looks like you would pass the hose through it but not sure where or why) and the other is a screw in a kind of red sheath...
Just wanna check these bits aren't supposed to be somewhere... any ideas?0 -
