Hate the rain. I thought I liked it, until on Saturday, I was stood next to my mate while he tried to fix a puncture in lashing gale force rain on a wet welsh hill side, fingers frozen trying to shove a shraeder valve through rim tape sized for a presta one. 15 minutes before he realised. My shoes actually had water bubbling out of the vents on top!

A dry crisp winter morning, with a bit of a sunrise over the wilderness is my mountain bike heaven :)

I love both. Dry & dusty for the speed, wet & slippy for the fun & technical challenge of actually getting through it.

The only weather that can GTF in my opinion is wind. I loath riding in the wind as it knocks all the fun out of it.

Aye, wind is a pain. Unless it's truly epic, enough to make you feel like you're really braving the elements like some Arctic explorer. But maybe that's just the little kid inside me
  • thunderstorms upset me to when I'm out and high up..... just seems to be a bad idea in hte back of my mind lol
  • Either is good for me, hate wind though - especially when it feels like your cycling through treacle!
Gun to my head though, I prefer summer - theres nothing quite like flying down a dusty trail full whack... Plus having to clean off copious amounts of mud from the bike post ride in winter is such a ball-ache!

I'm a night rider. Winter means longer nights so I am always happier.
Nothing better than riding the local trails in the pitch black. It all looks different.
(And you ride faster - if we do stop and listen to some of the sounds around us  )

I hear ya, went round the local woods last night for the first time in pitch black. That was an experience and a half.

Good fun but I practically soiled myself at every turn

First time I went through my local woods on my own, I jumped out of my skin when Endomondo updated me on my progress. Odd really, as there's less people about than on a warm sunny evening.

Regarding the wet. I don't enjoy it as much, but it doesn't stop me getting out.

There's something weirdly satisfying coming back from a ride, covered head to toe in mud.
