Concept 2 Challenge Series 2011/12 Season
http://concept2.co.uk/challengeseries/
The new season has begun and you can enter any 4 minute result since September 1st 2011. There are a couple of minor changes to the rounds this season due to some of the tie-in events changing dates this year. The British IRC is in March 2012 so the 2,000m challenge has been moved from November to March, the 2012 Boat Race is in April so we've moved the 16min 19sec challenge from March to April which means the re-named Joe Simpson Challenge (6,344m ) has moved from April to November. We've also renamed the Great Escape (5,000m) round in December as the Greg Searle Challenge in honour of him becoming one of our two new bloggers. The full list of rounds is as follows and posters for each are now available:
1. September - O'Neill Fitness Test - 4 mins
2. October - One Mile - 1,609m
3. November - Joe Simpson Challenge - 6,344m
4. December - Greg Searle Challenge - 5,000m
5. January - Gut Buster - 10,000m
6. February - Classic Indoor Race Distance - 2,500m
7. March - Olympic Race Distance - 2,000m
8. April - Boat Race Record - 16 mins 19secs
9. May - Sprint Finish - 500m
Bonus Rounds
1. June/July - Henley Royal Regatta - 2,112m
2. August - World Athletics - 800m
Anyone signing up for this season from BR?

Just joined the challenge.....will see if I can get to the gym and get a time posted for the 1609 metres even though I missed the 4minute challenge17 Stone down to 12.5 now raring to get back on the bike!0

I did the "row a million metres" challenge and all I got in return was repetitive strain injury  Took me almost a year to complete as well!
Rowing is good winter cross-training though. Might sign up again but doubt I will be doing to the 10k challenge as 40mins is too long when you only get 45mins for your lunch break (unless I come to work in my gym gear  )
What do I ride? Now that's an Enigma!0 -
I'll give this a go. Try and get a couple of hours a week done on the rower.0
