that was awesome!
You get a real feel for the course and how difficult its going to be.
RW is a legend though0 -
He is a legend...used to have one of his old Giant DH bikes, it was a bit trick for it's time with adjustable geometery...cool guy and all round good egg...0
-
Though he's clearly struggling, I love the way he still takes time out to say hello to all the ladies.0
-
my favourite has to be
"fark me im hanging off the back of the bitch"
made me chuckle!0 -
Thing is, Rob may not race any more, but he's not a numpty on a DH bike. If he's struggling, it really shows how hard the course is.
Just after he crashes, he looks back up the course, and holy hell it looks steep. You don't really get a sense of that form the normal helmet cam perspective.
Should make for an awesome race.0 -

I have again. Coverage was ace last year. They seem to pull out all the stops on the paid for events. No corners cut.0

pfft, this last week has completely blown my penny pinching ways out of the water.
I feel sick every time I realise how much money I've spent in just 7 days :shock:0 -
man, what ever i do at the moment it costs me money!
i just farted, thats another fiver out the window!0 -
I had car MOT (+ 4 new tyres), Insurance and roadtax renewal, paid for a holiday, paid for holiday gear, general repairs, general stuff required to live off.
Not a good week0 -
-
MOT! Well reminded. Thanks Yeehaa. Course looks ace. Impossibly steep. Like you say, Rob's no fool on a bike.A Flock of Birds

I hope Danny Hart has a crash free run... That will be good to watch.A Flock of Birds

I'll be impressed if he survives tbh He's a berserker and no mistake. Amazing rider...
Shame the juniors aren't being broadcast, I was wanting to see what Lew does, he was wanting better from this season...Uncompromising extremist0 -
I reckon Danny Hart learnt to ride stealing bikes as a kid - he just looks like he's trying to get away from his bikes owner most of the time. Fantastic rider but I dont want him to be world champ - it would be a bit like Jedward winning X factor.
Sam Hill is going to struggle I think - weight on his bad shoulder is going to hamper him, Gwin is going to be the man to beat again - he has to be on steroids or something surely!
I shall be up early to watch it live (it on at 4am or something out here) then struggle into work for the day - I'll feel like shit tomorrow afternoon.Closet jockey wheel pimp whore.0 -
Gwin really is the man to beat this year, eh! Incredible season for him.
Trek's really pulled it out of the bag this year. For Gwin to go from a strong contender, to an unstoppable force of nature, shows that the work they've been doing with their riders, training, bike design/setup etc has REALLY paid off.
I expect to see a lot more teams following their lead next year, and applying some science to their thinking.
Mosely's my bet for the wimmins, and Gwin for the men. However, I wouldn't discredit Gee and Rachel, or Minaar either.
Whatever happens, this is going to be edge of your seat stuff.0 -
would it be fair to say that gwin and trek are feeding off each other?
so , how do i go about watching this race, i see there is some talk of paying for the privilege?0 -
I was on the freecaster website last night and they've made it inexplicably unobvious how to sign up... Bloody silly. What you do is, click on the main link on the front page, then select "unlock", then you can register for freecaster, then you can subscribe from there. Oh and the registration process is really crap too.Uncompromising extremist0

cool, i look forward to enjoying the retardness, you have really sold it to me.0

My career in sales wasn't that succesful. Still hoping to move into the field of being an unhelpful sarcastic twayt, but not so many jobs available in those roles even though I'm highly qualified.Uncompromising extremist0

So you have to register with freecaster, and then pay to see it. Then once you log in, it's automatically unlocked.
And yes, Trek and Gwin are feeding off each other. The dirty perverts
Man, they are sick to the power of rad, too much stoke for one bloke.0 -
Ferkin 'ell that's a hairy looking course. Found this clip on Youtube of two blokes doing it a lot faster in the dry, must have been the conditions that were giving RW some of his problems:

Manon Carpenter is junior female world champ btw. Admittedly against a field of 4 but still, well done!Uncompromising extremist0

agreed, we are very sick, i would be stoked with the radness of that course.
i wasnt gonna pay 15eur to watch a bit of telly but that course looks ace so i may well stump up.0 -
Race delayed due to bad weather, apparently. Which means the course will be even more mental.0
-
Ah, is it weather? I'd heard they were having to clean some junior off the hill with a pressure washer. This is good then, bring on madness!Uncompromising extremist0
