305 Edge or Forerunner

I am thinking of buying a Garmin 305 forerunner to use as a cycle computer.
Does the 305 edge do anything any better?

    Use the compare function the garmin website. Forerunner is better IMHO

    Why the 305 Edge? Its been discontinued and if you did buy one it would cost the same as the Edge 500 which is better. I think your choice should be between the Edge 500 and Forerunner 305.

    I've got an Edge 500 and Forerunner 305 and if you want a cycle computer the Edge 500 is better. If you want versatility to be able to use the unit for running as well then go for the Forerunner 305 if buying used or Forerunner 310XT if buying new.
