The Race Across America is often regarded as the most strenuous cycling event

Team Type 1 , a team of insulin dependent riders, won the 2010 team race by some margin

as a Type 1 diabetic, I have often felt the disease hinders my progress as a cyclist

Not so it seems

Lots of useful info on here about blood sugar levels etc.

Which category do you think they won? I see they won the 8-person team event in 2010, but can't see what they won in 2011.
    More problems but still living....

It's the 2010 race I was referring to. The point of the post is not so much when they won, but more that they did. I've corrected my post

yes the 8 man team event. Factor in having to monitor blood sugar constantly on top of everything else, and it's a stunning achievement, a bit like a diabetic winning a grand tour.
