  • Damn you Nick! I do enjoy the odd Brewdog beer once in a while. I have a soft spot for their Hardcore IPA.

    Morning Crudmonkeys,

Apart from Nick teasing my tastebuds with beer, I'm rather good. Just another long day at work ahead and 6 days until my next day off. We should of hit bonus at work for last month which means next week we should see a little extra in our wage packet. Any ideas what to spend it on?

    Morning Slags

Just another day for me - 5km run this morning, gym at lunchtime, counting the hours till weekend

Got my 661 knee pads from eBay yesterday. They were only £20, advertised as having "a small tear" on them. The tear is miniscule and they smell like they've only been worn once. Result.

Some tweaks to make to bike this weekend ahead of next Fridays return trip to Cannock
  • Morning all, today will be a good day I think. Bike shop has a old FS bike for sale rather cheap, nothing sexy in the slightest, but will do the job allowing me to at least ride trails until I have enough cash to buy a new sexy bike. Thank god the wifes mom is loaning me money!

  • Hello fellow life forms!

Feel tired this morning, usual constant supply of tea has been interupted by meetings, loads to do and not enough time to do it.

Considering buying another bike because I'm bored and need something to do, although I know I must save my cash for the man cave at the new house.

  • Got up - did some phys.

Just getting showed and changed and a quick glance on FaceBook shows that all my mates in the armed forces who wanted redundancy have got it and all those who didn't want it didn't get it. It shows that for once the Army / RAF are taking into account what their guys want, which was unexpected.

Now off to work to deal with my 'special minion' who seems to take up 90% of my work time.

Ah, you work for the Met?

Today I'm working, kind of, while weighing up whether or not to buy a cyclocross frame for commuting on during the winter, which would give me the option of ice spikes for riding on down ungritted country roads......hmmmm, hard not to agree with the safety argument!

Morning (just) Gypos/pikeys and soon to be homless people.

Recovering from the most awesome day at Surrey hills yesterday, some proper gnarcore trails that left me grinning all day and night!

Weather is good and looks like it might stay that way for a few days? so gotta plan sundays ride.

Day and a half left at work before a week off when i'll be taking No1 to school for the first time, i know i'll be one of the parents sobbing like a little girl as she wonders in on her first day! while she is at school i will be doing much riding and fettling and genrally not much else.

I have saturday night wife free, so i'll be stocking up on beer and proper food before settling down to watch things like fast and furious and die hard etc.

    Anywhoo

    Afternoon

Great day of some revision, beach, quick run and now a swim followed by a beer
  • Afternoon!

Today's been a lazy day, where me and a friend have made a cake! We haven't eaten it yet as we're waiting for our other friends to come home. It's got 400g of Green & Blacks chocolate in it. Aparently this will serve 16. Yeah right!

    Afternoon Special Needs people :)

Bit knackered as I've just got back from getting lost on the bike round Box Hill/Headley Heath. Lots of fast XC stuff though not nearly as good as Surrey Hills, but I couldn't get to Surrey Hills and back in time as needed to drop off and collect the other half and ankle biter from Box Hill - next time maybe. Now supping cofee and recovering before I have to get on the bike again to collect the car which is in for new front pads and discs (ouch).

A lazy night in front of the telly beckons after that - film PSA to follow.

Surrey Hills much better for me mate - Box Hill (the bit I did at Headley Heath) was mostly woodland paths and Bridleways with lots of walkers and horsey types, not much challenging apart from some steep hillls with loose surfaces and getting lost half the time. Surrey Hills has some proper runs and more to keep you interested - remember doing 'Yoghurt Pots' when I was there, was good fun. I was doing Box Hill mainly as the other half was seeing someone who lived there and I had a few hours to p1ss about on the bike.

Did you do any of the named runs in SH?
