Good ride from Wiggo........J-Rod reckoned on losing 2:30 tomorrow in the TT. On todays evidence I can see Wiggo putting 4 minutes into him easy!

Nice to see Dan Martin get a win too :D

Even I was impressed by Wiggins ... Not so sure it's luck or design only the non-GC riders took some bonus seconds ... If he had calculated to ride so hard that Nibs etc. couldn't come over him then well done indeed ...

What about Froome he was up there as well great ride from him as well.

  • That stage finish is bound to bring on some furious posting around here!
    Terrific final 6km
Anybody else noticed that Dan Martin has now won both the major MTF bunch finishes? (not that there was much of a bunch left!)

Two fingers from Wiggo to all the doubters. Superb ride from him and Froome.

Very good ride by Wiggins. Pretty intelligent too.

Wonder how much it will have taken out of him?

  • Fantastic to say the National Champs jersey on the front of a Grand Tour drilling it. Top ride by Wiggins, and a bit of a coming of age for Dan Martin. Roll on tomorrow.

Wiggins/Martin/Froome - hat to you all. That was one of the most enjoyable stages in a LONG time. Great stuff.

Wiggins must be in with a chance of GC win. Be good to see a Brit finally win the Vuelta after the unfairness to Millar in 1985

Yep - but just trying to think of a stage where favourites were just ground out like that from this year's tour. Esp, with my patriotic hat on, by a Brit (Belgian) and an Irish Brummy(!). Watching the leaders (and more favoured riders) just falling off...

Besides, the Tour seems a LONG time ago now....
  • I'm not sure I agree that the race only came alive today.
    Yesterday was pretty explosive.

Anyhow, for tomorrow's ITT battle for red.
    For me it's down to
    Nibali
    Fuglsang @ 29"
    Wiggins @ 52"

Think Nibs will struggle to stay with a minute of Brad.

Hope the chef made plenty of humble pie! Boring rider who sucks wheels and can't live with proper climbers etc. Good ride by 'over-rated' Martin too. Froome showing real potential as well - good day for British riders :-)

Great ride by Wiggo, goes to prove what he could have done at the tour.

Scarponi blew apart. Hope it was just a bad day but if today is anything to go off then he could well not make the top 10. But still 2 weeks to go.

Wow sounded like some super fireworks. Time gaps certainly aren't large though between the first bunch even if there were a few losers.

Really glad that Mr Martin took the win. Super talent, true racer. Mollema showing very well this year.

Brilliant viewing. I didn't think Nibali would be taken to his limit by anybody in that pack. Wiggins looked unreal, it was shown by how quickly Rodriguez was losing time. Naturally, Froome also deserves a mention.

I can't wait to see how it plays out on the Angliru. Going off last time, I assumed Rodriguez would use it to his advantage, but he surprised me for the wrong reasons today. Nobody really sticks out as the person to make the big, definitive moves.
