Why verbally abuse a fellow cyclist?

If it's not bad enough having to endure verbal abuse from kids on the pavement or from adults in passing cars, but why does a fellow cyclist have to shout abuse? I was out this evening for a gentle spin and whilst out I was passed by a fellow cyclist who whilst passing shout "f@cking Sky!!". He was obviously refering to my Sky top which I was wearing. The same guy has now shouted the same abuse twice which I think is completely uncalled for or perhaps he is just showing off that he can read. I hope for his sake he doesn't catch me after a bad day at the office or he might just have to sprint like Mark Cavendish if doesn't want me to verbally education him.
As for wearing my Sky top, I will continue to wear it with pride.

You support a sports team which is no different from any other sport, try standing outside Old Trafford wearing a Man City kit!0

If you see him at rougly the same time, I'd lay an ambush for him0

But he might hate Murdoch. You can see his point of view.Purveyor of "up"0

With the exclusion of couriers, I can empathise. I once passed a courier several times as he continued to RLJ with me then passing him each time. After the 5th set of lights he passed me and peeled off at a junction calling me a dick head. I just shouted "thanks" and was on my way. What was he expecting - me to stay behind him as he slowly grinded away?
Maybe the guy shouting facking Sky is actually giving you credit, as in - "yay Sky"
I'd just tell him to do one or get off his back and kindly allow you to adjust his attitude for him.Ribble Stealth/SRAM Force

After visiting the Manchester Wheelers webiste and seeing your cycling top more closely perhaps it wasn't a Manchester Wheeler as I don't remember seeing any white on the top. I apologise to the Manchester Wheelers club for accusing what I thought was one of your members.0 -
you cant miss it really, what with Manchester Wheelers emblazened all over it!0

Lets hope your hearing is better than your eyesight.0

Appreciate the apology dude, but is there any chance you can edit your original post and remove the club name. Some readers might not read all the posts and will just take it as a MW has been giving you grief.0

Just throw some abuse back... Take it from there...Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0

Isn't verbally abusing fellow cyclists the main motivation for quite a few BR forumites?0

The solution to all angry cyclists:
Whip it out and wave it at them.
The solution to all angry cars:
Curl one out on their bonnet.0 -

If you end up on the bonnet of a moving car, I guess the 'curling out' bit will be involuntaryPowered by Haribo.0 -

Probably that bloke off here (can't remember his name) who commented on the 'friendly banter' he exchanged with some total stranger riding in a Sky kit a couple of weeks ago!0

Next time he shouts "F*cking Sky" you should reply by shouting "F*cking C*nt".
If that upsets him, then suggest that he minds his own business and keeps his f*cking remarks to himself.Science adjusts it’s beliefs based on what’s observed.

ooooooooo I can see why you are emotionally scarred with insults like that. Get a grip don't lower yourself to his standards. If you have nothing better to worry about I suggest you get a life.
Possibly a little harsh Jason, considering that it was the, OP who was being shouted at. I'd suggest that it is the person doing the shouting who needs to get a grip and get a life.
Oh....... unless you're a Troll and your comment was there to gain a reaction ? :roll:Science adjusts it’s beliefs based on what’s observed.

No just don't see the point in getting bothered by such a lame arsse comment. Leave him be, let him think he is superior in his crappy disallusioned life. Like I said the OP is doing well in life or doesn't have one if he has actually given this bloke and his shite insult any thought at all. If he said it to me I would of just laughed at how pathetic the other blokes life must be if that's how he gets his kicks. My farts are more offensive than this.Missing a Boardman cx team
