Tonsillitis, when to go 100% again?

hey folks, I know this is a very individual thing, and I need to listen to my body more than follow a plan, but I'm currently plagued with tonsillitis, and wondering when my body will fully recover from it. Doctor not much help sadly.
Was at pretty much peak fitness when I got it last week, so hope it'll just be a blip, but if I'm looking to taper up to 100 mile runs in about 4 weeks (could do them before hand, don't worry!) then should I just leave it until week three before doing something like a 50?
Don't know if anyone can help, but it'd be great to hear some advice if it's going.
Cheers,
John

Others have ignored advice about what you want to do but are dead now.....Reason...Did not have a bell on the bike, couldn't shout out to pedestrians. Hit one and bounced in to the road, in front of a car.
Here's another one....I think it depends - if you have a bit of a sore throat, but otherwise feel fine, you should be ok. If you have proper tonsillitis, don't do it! My uncle ignored tonsillitis as a kid and now has artificial heart valves and a pacemaker and had to have major open heart surgery several times - that he is still alive is a miracle!
Is that what you want to hear? or do you think that advice from a medical expert would be a better way to go....................................................................................................
If you want to be a strong rider you have to do strong things.
However if you train like a cart horse you'll race like one.0 -

Was that meant to be a slightly cryptic reply, or have I just not recovered as much as I thought? Kinda follow you though, so thanks for replying.
Came down with it on Wednesday, but thanks to penicillin and a caring wife, seem to have cleared the worst of it, and am now just left really quite weak.
I'm not planning on going anywhere near a bike until next weekend, to let my body fully recover, and even then it'll just be a couple of miles on a canal path with the family, just to see how the body feels.
But it's how to ramp it up from there, how to coax my body back into full fitness for a 100 mile ride by mid september. I guess I'll just play it by ear and if my body tells me to stop, and not do the 100, I'll listen to it.
