Aching arms whilst climbing

I've currently been getting aches in my forearms when on long climbs (when standing) - are there any dumbbell routines to anyones knowledge that will strenghten the forearms
Pain is weakness leaving the body.....I have a lot of weakness!

Yes there are - but i wouldn't bother. Your body will adapt - its not a strength thing - more a constant load issue - try relaxing a bit when you can (not grabbing bars like grim death) and stretching out the affected muscles afterwards.

I used to get aching arms after standing up for very steep climbs but found it went away pretty quickly when I got used to climbing.
  • there's a certain amount of acidity in all of the bloodstream when you're working hard so even the muscles that are doing very little may feel it. you'll probably adapt anyway but when it comes to tired arms look first at position/upper body weight/core strength before the dumbells.

I second that with the acidity. I get it as well sometimes, especially on steep climbs but it soon goes when the road is flat again.
