Well, it takes me 6 minutes to walk to work but only about 2 minutes on my bike.

I timed my ride home recently and it came in at 1 minute 50 seconds!

    commute [kəˈmjuːt]
    vb
    1. (intr) to travel some distance regularly between one's home and one's place of work

It seems you might be wrong....

And you didn't answer the question: How long/short is your commute?

(But I've just noticed in your profile that it's NW London <-> Aldgate (15miles each way))

6.7 miles which I do in 22-23 minutes usually.

    1m 50s isn't a commute, it's going next door!

16-17 Miles each way, anything from 57mins to 70mins depending on weather and me.

  • 12.5 miles each way, fastest time 32:21, average is nearer 38. Mostly flat and very few traffic lights. :D
  • 32 miles there and back, around and hour and a half each way. Twice a week. When I started cycling again back in March the intent was to do this every day but it seems this kind of riding goes against all the latest training advice.

Secretly harbour a desire to ride every day (accept on the bad weather days, where's the fun in that) and it occurs to me that if I was to do this through most of winter i'd be flying next spring.

4.5 mile round commute via the shortest route.

takes me 45 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes in the evening....the morning route is uphill all the way (so I tend to get off an push a fair amount)....going down hill on the way home is fun though :D

21 miles each way. Just stepped up from 17 miles each way and finding the change surprisingly hard work.

2 miles to the station, about 60 miles on the train, 3 miles from the station. Same in reverse. So about 65 miles each way, but only 10 miles daily on the bike.

15.5 miles each way - going home much quicker than going in - best is currently 46 mins 22 sec of moving time which meant I'd hit my first commuter target of 20 mph moving average - next is to get a sub 45 mins

Did 17 miles each way, often longer in the summer, rarely missing a day for 20 years. Now retired and having to train.

50km round trip, most of it off road or on fire track - just got back into cycling so I have done this a few times in preparation for cycling to the office 2 or 3 times a week by the end of the month.

    20 miles each way.

Fast busy road direct way = 1hour but not much fun if traffic is busy

Best time is before 7Am for this route

Indirect country lanes = 1 hour 15 ish but enjoyable
