thigh, calf and ankle pain

Help, I have been retired two years and try to get out five to seven times a week on my bike. back in May I fell asleep awkwardly in my chair, since then i have had the most horrendous pains down the back of both thighs, calves. My GP thinks it might have been a trapped nerve. I have visited a Sports therapist and Osteopath, but improvement has been very, very slow.
I have been doing stretches to ease things.
However after an aerobics class or going out on my bike it feels good and my legs feel okay. As it has been so long getting back to normal have I been making the condition worse or have I been doing the right thing?

Dunno, but I think your GP, having examined you and, y'know, having a medical degree, will be better placed than any muppets on here to advise.

Thanks, it was a clutching at straws moment in case someone had been through it.

Out of interest, what treatments did they provide you with?

Hi Mathew treatments have mainly been massage and manipulation from sports therapist who gave massage on hamstrings. Osteopath has manipulated vertabrae (v.gently). Improvement has been slow, first thing in the morning can be difficult until legs/hip warmed up. thanks for interest.
