Stupid places to leave your bike.

I think they were managing to stand there and do nothing quite happily without my help. Seriously though they didn't appear to be doing anything, and while I had enough time/space to pull up, it would not have been graceful.
thinking about it again, perhaps the fat one was having a heart attack?
On the Lee quarry vid, I like the "ooh you nearly had me off there" rather than "sorry mate for coming off the line and nearly riding on your head".0 -

Can't see YouTube at work, but where near BKB, is there a descent you can do 30mph on?!
with you on this one,I watched it with out sound and it look no more then 25MPH to me, I also turn mute on during car chases in films and laugh how slow they're actually traveling.Specialized-The clitoris of bikes.0 -
The confusion is that cooldad was looking at another vid of bkb, the vid in this thread is the one titled "happy valley".
Not wanting to be accused of over estimating my speed I can confirm that, according to my gps and the time synch on the video, I was doing somewhere between 30-34mph

I can confirm that yes, there are better ways of getting down that hill, but that descent (don't know it as happy valley, it's little switzerland to me) is rather more fun than youtube makes it look. I wouldn't want to be hanging on the anchors down that bit of trail if avoidable.Rock Lobster 853, Trek 1200 and a very old, tired and loved Apollo Javelin.0

If you think taking a kid over the FTD on such a bike at such speeds is a good idea, you're frankly a berk. The guys over there were kind enough to put detailed signs, maps and details as to what the terrain is like and what skill level it's aimed at, ohh and provide blue and green routes to ride !
If you can't be bothered to read then you're an idiot for risking injury to your children in the name of masochism and be sure if you have a go at me for coming up behind you fast, you won't have any dustcaps left !0 -
34mph
I think what you've encountered there is a GPS blip.0 -

njee i think inconsiderate was the wrong word on my part, i understand they have just as much right to use the trail i just worry about how safe stuff is.
i don't want to round a corner at full tilt and find a kid on a bike just in the middle and me run in to them. I know this means i need to ride slower as then i am the one thats being inconsiderate, its about give and take i suppose.....0 -
It's unlikely to be a blip, since you can see the acceleration line and its also less common when you have the speed/cadence sensor fitted, as the edge is supposed to use both sources.
There are better way's down the right hand trail is moss side (china pig?), I'd already been down there once, there are loads of other routes. TBH there is nothing particularly exciting about box, I use it as a training circuit if I only have an hour or so.0 -
China pig is better, but little switz i find entertaining for 'how fast can you go through/over the big rain gully' challenges...Rock Lobster 853, Trek 1200 and a very old, tired and loved Apollo Javelin.0
