Why GT Sonic? When did your love affair with this particular brand start? Are the Aggressor's any good?0 -

theyd be alright for a light trail bike surely2014 Giant Trance 27.5 1
2013 Cannondale Jekyll 3
2007 Carrera Kraken0 -
I am very very tempted - 6'3'' tall and a fairly light rider, with exactly the right amount of money in the bank for an extra large 2009 meta 5.5 frame. Do I risk it.................Current bikes:
Norco Sight 3 SE (on order)
Specialized Allez 2010
Old bikes:
Commencal META 55 custom build (Stolen )
Boardman HT Comp 2010
GT Avalance 1.0 2006(ish)0 -
im thinking of it. if it cracks could always send it to argos cycles2014 Giant Trance 27.5 1
2013 Cannondale Jekyll 3
2007 Carrera Kraken0 -
If it cracks get it repaired - no big deal for a decent tig welder on a Saturday morning for some folding beer tokens!
You could even pre-empt the cracking and get some MPI done on the frame first to check for defects. For that amount of discount you should have plenty of cash left over for repairs!2011 Giant Trance Ltd, 2016 Revs, XT bits etc.0 -
Well a night sleeping on whether to risk getting a 2009 meta 5.5 and they're now all gone .Current bikes:
Norco Sight 3 SE (on order)

However I just managed to bag the last Meta 55 Pro with shock for £399 and these apparently are not the ones prone to cracking so double bargain. Now I just need to find a bargain 140mm fork .Current bikes:

U-turn Domains for under £250 with a 1 1/8" steerer is very tempting, if nly they weren't so heavy.

PITA that you can't get u-turn Pikes anymore and Lyriks are so expensive -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_

Why are MTB economics; spend twice as much as you intended, but only half as much as you wish you could afford? :roll:0 -

So what makes the Zaskar such a good bike? In the market for my first MTB (im a keen roadie) and was settled on a On One 456, but with some of the offers ive seen around, this one included im now not sure!0 -
SS wears some rose tinted glasses when it comes to the Zaskar, however it is an excellent all round bike, especially suited to longer rides and got good reviews in this months 'what £1K hardtail' feature.

"Bankrupt cycles" store on eBay has dirt cheap stuff, it's not glamorous, but if anyone is building an (unnatractive to thieves) pub/hack/commuter bike it could be a good place to start. Sure I saw a frame, headset, stem, bars and forks for <£40 on there last week.0

This version has a really good spec for the money and a very good frame - tough, light and comfortable.0 -
Long sleeve merino wool base layer from On-one for less than £20. Very comfy, not itchy, wicks extremely well and best of all does not smell cause of natural wool. Much prefer it to my other synthetic base layers which whiff after every ride!
