Glad I did - it's chucked it down since 8pm, and two pints of bitter and gawping at the barmaid's ample charms was a far better choice.

Did she enjoy your lycra just as much as you did her charms?

BBC reackons coldest summer since 1992. i repeat, Global warming my ars*.

Because temperatures are fairly chilly this week does not mean global warming doesn't exist. The warming is more than just a temperature increase, you feel those in the poles, but for the rest of the worlds this causes huge shifts in weather patterns, making it more extreme in many cases, and causes huge fluctuations in climates that should be fairly stable.

Quite - the weather and the climate are two different things; both show variation of hotter and colder but over different timescales. It's a bit like commuting to work. Over the years, traffic density has tended to increase due to population increase. Just because some days traffic is light it doesn't mean that the population increase isn't happening.

Leg stubble, it brings all the girls to the bar.

I did deem it sensible to get changed - I may live in Brighton, but there are lines a Chap shouldn't cross, and walking to the pub in spandex is one of them.

Wind really strong everyday  rain most days, this summer and like most other summers, is s**t. I never expect a decent summer as it does not happen.

If it makes you lot feel any better, it's just as bad out here in the French Alps (Samoens), and we paid to come here  Having said that, it's been roughly 65% good weather in our 2.5 weeks here, but nothing like same time last year when it hardly dropped below 35C (actually, that's a bit too hot).

    markyone,

The problem is, you live in Bristol. I would suggest a move to Malaysia. Around 34 degrees all year round, a couple of hours rain in the afternoon, which usually dries within an hour, light breezes, blue sky etc...

However, ludicrous humidity, dreadful roads and suicidal traffic.....Mind you, you can get a cracking tandoori chicken for next to nothing. :D
