Has anybody got any thoughts on whether it's faster to go clockwise of anti-clockwise? Been out doing some laps (slowly) in the last few weeks and would love to get down under 20 mins but want to make sure I'm giving myself the best chance.
Does anybody know which was David Millar went when he smashed 13.35 or whatever ridiculous time he did.

Cool. Thanks. I'll give a blast anti-clockwise tomorrow when it's quiet and see if I can get a bit closer. If not then I'll get some EPO.0

By London standards it's pretty hilly. I've been going clockwise and Broomfield is the only hill where I've needed to get out of the saddle but a lot of the rest of the park is a gentle gradient.0 -
cheers, I am going to enjoy a little run round the park tomorrow. 2-3 laps then back (maybe 4)
hopefully the weather holds outFCN: 5/6 Fixed Gear (quite rapid) in normal clothes and clips

I am currently working and staying at Richmond, I do see a load of bikers going up the hill, I'm guessing they go through the Park, what time does it open and close?
I may take my bike down there.0 -
Opening times are here:

I used to commute through the park and could always get in and out through the pedestrian gates (road gates are shut at dusk but the pedestrian gate next to each road gate is left open). So, I frequently rode through the park in the dark in the winter - a bit spooky but mostly empty apart from the odd cyclist or runner. Deer were a potential hazard.
More information about road cycling in the park is here - with a good profile of the hills.

Thats great when i stay in Richmond i stay at the Richmond Gate Hotel which is abut 100 metres from the gate, usually fly down but i'm tempted to drive down next time and stick the bike in the back.
Either that or buy a bike travel bag for the flight down....0
