It's been voted the most popular place for golf by a landslide

But he's already seen Scotland :?:

Well, part of it at least. He's in for a fright if he is riding on Sunday. Best bring the flippers.
None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.

He must be staying at Skibo Castle (where Madonna had her wedding reception, home of the Carnegie club). They have a private golf course there and I recognise the hills in the photo.

No, wouldn't worry about getting dropped by the black and yellow overweight brigade. And as for pissing my pants, no, but I'm sure you all made a mess of a different kind in your own...

Interesting - but why does he do it?

I'm not being cynical, but why would he come all the way from the US for a 30 mile social ride in Inverness?

Is he in the country for some other reason also?

    COnfused!!

Here he is, second from right. Don't think I should ever take up a career in photography.

Here's my ride - manic beginning with far too many people chasing the big man. I thought I'd wear my pads out. Then the climb which spread the field out and the rain started. Then some poor lad had an off and (by the look of things) broke his collarbone (at least I could help out with my emergency blanket). Then back to where Lance was staying where I got my book signed.

    Great experience though.

Great day despite the monsoon half way round. At least 300 bikes, maybe more. The roads were pretty narrow and I'd say there was a chain of cyclists well over 1km long after a while. I started near the back and it was very hard to get past folk and get further forwards. I was about 400m behind but managed to get up a good bit until the very wet descent into Spinningdale where there were a few slow downs and stops. It was really treacherous there.

Saw one bad crash half way round, I heard a rumour the guy broke his collar bone. Anyone hear more?

Hope Lance enjoys the rest of his hols :-)

There should be more events like this in the Highlands. Highlight for me was cycling 4 abreast down the A9 with everyone jockeying for position and not a car in sight.

You must have been just in front of me, by the time I got to Skibo he was just going inside. I heard someone offering an emergency blanket so I must have been right next to you!

Yup - you must have been - amazing experience. As you say, piling down the A9 at speed was just great

was a great ride, and the rain came at a good time to cool me down! :D

Saw some poor bugger land on his head on the descent into spinningdale. Ultra slippy road there, think he caught the verge and got spat off at 30+ mph... :?

Hope all who fell get better soon! was a fantastic ride out, even if I only saw Lance at the start and the finish at Skeibo!
    It's been a while...
