That's a real shame, although it means a little less pressure on Sky to work too hard until the mountains. Silver lining and all that...

So, looking like a super time by Saxo. So much for the doubters.

Real shame for Gilbert to lose the jersey so soon. Going to be difficult to win it back.

Better for Evans than winning it by 1 second. He'll probably end up in it after stage 4 anyway.

Maybe more importantly he gained 6 seconds on Gesink and 35 seconds on Van Den Broek.

Crazy efforts from BMC and Leopard. I didn't expect that.

Closest TTT I have seen for a while

To be fair, it was a "Disney-fied" version of a TTT. People want the spectacle of a TTT but aren't prepared to stomach the time losses which can result from doing it properly.

23km is a good commute, not a stage.

Thomas doesnt get yellow but keeps white. Navadauskas would have taken it from him had he finished with the other Garmin riders but he got sacrificed along the way and is now 57 seconds in arrears.

He should keep it tomorrow as long as there are no time gaps and as long as he doesnt finish a lot of places behind EBH. Might be tougher to keep it on the fourth stage though.

    1. Thomas
    2. EBH same time
    3. van Garderen +1
    4. Goss +1
    5. Swift +7
    6. Gesink +8
    7. Gautier +46

    One for the geeks...

Thor has worn the rainbow jersey, the polka dot jersey and now the yellow jersey. Who was the last rider to do the same? Can he get a day in green as well? If so, has anyone ever worn all four jerseys in the same season?

BTW, I don't have the answers.

I had one of them red bikes but I don't any more. Sad face.

if chinny rode on his own he wouldn't finish last

saxo did quite a decent ride all told... if he hadn't lost the time yesterday he would be pretty happy with that. but its all adding up.

its good for BMC, Sky and the race they didn't get the jersey.

Gesink and Basso could be a real problem for bertie in the hills

    Cancellara. Hero.

Brought Frank & Andy Schleck to within 5 seconds of Garmin.

    Rider of the day (unsurprisingly).
