Has anyone considered North Yorks Moors? Plenty of natural gubbins for the 'weirdy beardies' and Dalby for the trail centre nuts.

There is also a camp site just down the road at Pexton Moor Farm, Thornton Le Dale. No idea what sort of site it is and whether they'd take a bunch of hooligan MTBers

Another good call, again it's not going to appeal to all distance wise but like I said, if it's succesful it can be repeated and move around so it's more convenient for different people each time. Punt in the dark, what about dalby wc weekend, there's usually the public dalby dare day then a host of stuff to occupy with the race day? It also makes the group camping easier as they are expecting loads of biker types
