If you don't do it, we'll petition the mods to change your user name to "Kieran_GurliePuffCryBaby_Burns"?

Hills is hills. You might go a bit slower and use a higher gear but it's rare for one to be a showstopper. I rarely used the Bunny road when I lived up that way but don't recall it being a cliff face, not like Streatley Hill near Watlington (Oxford way). That's a hill.

    Get on with it.

Quite! He can hardly have expected a chorus of "Ooh, looks a bit tough to me"; "I'd find a different route if I were you"; "Surely you're better off sticking to what you know"; and "it's not big or clever to do mountains like that just for the sake of it".

    Worra GurlyPuffCryBaby!

*And* it almost looks downhill on google, FFS! Call that a hill? An overhang is a proper hill; round my way.... [etc]

Hill???? Surely that's an offence under the trades description act! My commute down here in the southwest on the way to work has an average of over 6%, with a max of 18%, route home is a bit less.

Maybe you should just one of those powered bikes?

We did a hill on a MTB run last week, Kilpatrick Crags.... 3 gates you go through on way up from Old Kilpatrick, I was up for a tough climb. The guy who knew the route told me that in 20 years of doing the circuit, only once had he seen someone make it to the 3rd gate, and that person was in the Marines....

Well needless to say, by Wednesday evening he had seen the second person in 20 years make it to the 3rd gate.....

It was a huge struggle but so happy at getting there. Just need a goal/incentive. Once done a few times it becaomes less of an issue. SLAY that hill!

A couple of hundred feet in half a mile - that's not a hill. MTFU you big cry baby. I can't believe someone would draw such attention to their own inadequacies by posting them on an internet forum. You might as well have said "My willy is only two inches is this too small"

Cant have a Crosser failing on hills.

I will now feel suitably ashamed to be seen on my Tricross tonight :)

Alternatively, I'm sure one of the grannies may lend Kieran her electric bike to get up that bump.

    Hill duly done

Got 1/2 way up in middle ring / 4th but had to drop to 3rd and finally 2nd as I got to the top, but that was 'cos I was determined to do it in the saddle all the way up

In other news: I scared the crap out of a guy who I caught having a crafty drink of Stella while sat in traffic (spoken to the Police)

Can't believe we got to page 3 without someone pointing out how heavy a Tricross is and suggesting you buy a proper road bike

I have a nemesis hill that I will not go belting down until I've cycled up it...

    It's this one

Called Bunny Hill and it's a bit of a bloody duracell bunny if you ask me... I keep chickening out of trying it but I really want to see if I can beat the 50mph limit coming down it - but I have to conquer it first.....

On the Tricross and I really don't want to have to use the granny ring

IF I can do this, anyone can do anything

Thats incredible what you've achieved. I hope youre an inspiration to others, if I see you on this years manc-bpool I'll give you a shout. well done.

I've GOT a proper road bike - the Madone (4.5). The Tricross means I can bloody fly when I get on the Madone, which is why I don't use it often :P

and some POSITIVE encouragement would be nice in future. That was a huge mental hurdle I got over there, so some of the sarcasm was not entirely appreciated.
