One of the best threads on here in weeks ... Hearsayand conjecture rule over common sense ... Someone accuses me of being a LA fanboy ... For no otherreason than it's easy to say ...

I said it in post 3 or 4 ... Riders peak for the highlight of their season ...

Take off the blinkers and save ripping yor bumholes as your heads come out of your a$$es ... Yes, it was LA's team but only an idiot would court that scrutiny if doped ... And Horner has 2 kids to support and can ride a few more years ... Motivated .. Nah, can't imagine why ...

Maybe Horner has proved and will take the tour by storm this year. OTOH Maybe he's decided that he's not got many seasons left and this year he'll cash in on the ToC which is probablyworth more to him than 7th in the tour.

I think you need to give your head a shake. Chris Horner clearly had *assistance*.

Ummm if the implication here is that Chris was doping, Im sure its true. When he gave the interview after the stage win, he appeared as relaxed as someone who had just taken a 4 hour nap, not a 4 hour trek. But Levi was likely doping as well, so they are both in the same boat and my quesiton still stands.

Hhhmmm bloke in his late 30s getting slower on the bike - hardly a shock and something I am currently discovering for myself. The sooner he becomes so slow he is no longer worthy of a pro contract, the better as far as I am concerned.

Great Post. I'll be happy when he's done cycling. Make room for the young guns like Boassen Hagan and Peter Sagan. Peter Sagan is the one to look out for. As far as I can tell from his results this year, hes the best young talent in the sport, and handles himself like an experienced pro.

I think Levi rode for Gerolsteiner when Schumacher and Kohl were busted so it doesn't really matter what Team Levi was on.
Also getting in to top form and drugs are like 2 peas in a pod. As for losing weight, if you are a top rider then there are products to help with that as old Jan would know about.
There is a length of time about 3-4 weeks where the form is good; peak too late and you're off the pace in the Mountains (TDF) but may ride a good San Sebastian. Also a bit like Rodriguez in the Giro only coming to form in the last few stages and then doing a good Dauphine. Maybe he only fancied a stage win in each race and no planned overall contention in the Giro??

No, he'd left a couple of years earlier.

Im pretty sure LL has doped throughout his career, here's just one example take it as a grain of salt, but there may be some truth 2 it

But the fact is doping has nothing to do with it. I think its just old age setting in. He was the National Road race champion in 2007, but I think that's that last we'll see from him regarding UCI world racing glory.

Fair point but lets not get too precious about Teams and doping with LL.
