all of those who are doing 700+ per month
where the fack do you get the time, I assume you are free and single,
I was chuffed because I managed to fit in about 450 in April0 -
I thought the weather has been better this year. I'm sure I remember a thread last year moaning about the wind.
My mileage is up on last year, by the end of July I should've passed last years total.0 -

I am married with two young daughters and, for me, it is about making it work. For example, I have to take the eldest to horse riding at 11:00 on Saturday so I get up early and am usually out by 07:00, which means I can get a swift 65 in with a little flex in case of puncture. In the week, i usually get home at 19:00 and can get a few 25's in if I change straight into my cycling kit rather than slob out gear. I also work from home every now and then so take my 1 hour lunch break cycling like a demon rather than eating. I admit i am lucky to have some flex and the fact that my wife is very supportive (she also gets to go out cycling on Sunday after I get back from my club ride, yeah ).0 -
Loads more this year, probably because I'm building up to a 1400 mile JOGLE in September, but even without that I can only think of one day where it's the weather that's made me think twice and it was properly raining that day. I can't even remember the last time I wore a waterproof jacket on the bike, and even a wind proof jacket was months ago.0

Dunno about 700+, but between 150-175 miles a week commuting with 2-3 TT's a week, and a few other random rides here and there soon adds up0 -

Married with a kid of 6, but just try and fit training in with family life, normally doing 900+ miles a month. Alot of mine will be training whilst commuting home on the bike, but still either ride or race at the weekends.0 -
It was the driest spring since records began
Since mid May the weather has been "average" IMHO, it's not wet at all

I've not noticed it being windier than normal but I suppose it's possible.
In my case, yes I have been riding less miles than last year. According to the little chart on www.mycyclinglog.com I have done less miles than 2010 in Jan, March, April and May
But my training aims are different this year, I would see that as more significant than the weather0 -
loving this drought..............................bever stops raining in Wales
I jibbed on one clu ride last week becuase it was lashing it down, and I have no waterproof yet.....but, once thats sorted, no sense in staying home becuase of the rain, living in Wales you'd never get out!!!Scott Addict R3

Of course, the other variable is competing demands when the weather is good. "We must work on the garden. We must finish laying the decking". You get the picture. :roll:Purveyor of "up"0

Nope, going ok. Don't mind the rain one bit, grew up in Wales so its BAU. If its too windy I'll go off road and get protection from the woods0

thankfully haven't been sick this spring/summer so getting out regularly, but it's ridiculous to have to put on winter leggings and jackets in mid June for a Sunday morning spin - and still be numb with cold when it's finished! Just a bit p'd off with the wind here on the west coast of Ireland... but it's sunny and dry this evening and we've a 16km club TT later, the second half and the ride home into a headwind should be character building!0

Its a scientifically proved fact that cyclists do not dissolve in the rain. If you're making excuses not to go out, best take up ten pin bowling instead, then you can still dress up like a clown0

Hardly ever rains in East Anglia, so far this year. I've been riding my summer bike since about February 8)Specialized Venge S Works

Luckily I've had some good old sunny and warm weather here (read 30 degrees and bright sun) for the majority of the time since about mid april or so. A few days rain, but they make perfect rest days!0

I was in Austria this time last year, and it poured down all day every day, from Wien to Innsbruck. I didn't see a single mountain because of all the mist..Giant TCR Advanced II - Reviewed on my homepage

The biggest impact on the lack of miles i've done this year was the impact of the car as it hit me and knackered both my back and my bike.Bianchi. There are no alternatives only compromises!

And before you all suggest an early morning ride.... I start work at 6am and I am not that keen.
Having said that , I have not missed a single weekend in the last 8mths, even when we had all the snow and sub zero temp, I managed to get out on the MTB.
