Well it's wet in sunny Sheffield so before this evenings ride I'm sitting in to watch Round 3 from what appears to be a very wet Leogang.

Should be fun to see who spills out in the wet.

For the win GA even though Hill could do well in these conditions.
I'm going to blow the bank on a new build ( within reason ) NOW DONE!!

You know how sometimes you see these DH courses on the telly and they look deceptively easy.

This is not one of those times.

Guess its one of those courses where going at x miles per hour is easy but 2x miles per hour is a lot more than two times harder.

    Either way rubbish course

    You reckon?

I thought it was an excellent course, you could tell it was a proper test of skill for the riders.

That's what I meant by my comment above. Sometimes they make it look easy, but this time you could tell they were all right at the limits of their skill.

With the exception of CG who somehow always makes everything look easy

I actually thought the opposite of that, i could get down the course itself, but if i was trying to do it in a certain time or speed i'd be screwed lol. Courses like fort bill, hell knows if i could even get down in one piece let alone try and do it fast

I thought the course was great too, that steep rooty descent through the trees was nasty. A proper test for the riders.

Hmm, it definitely looked more technical than Fort Bill. There's that huge drop now at the Fort, which would put the willies up most people, but apart from that it's all roll-able.

Leogang looked in places like you HAD to pick a line and commit, just barrelling through and hoping for the best wouldn't work.

Aye, I've not ridden Leogang but it definately looks tougher than fort william to me. Offbeat's a hard ride in a lot of ways but it's not as scary as you'd think *. The camera can lie, mind, fort william looks harder than it is tbh.

(* not counting the road gap, which is closed off outside of race days, to stop everyone killing themselves to bits)

Very much this, i watched yesterday and i was discussing it in the LBS just now, there is no way i would of even contemplated that course, where as Bill i would of tried (except the road gap) You know its gnarly if it looks gnarly and steep on the TV!
When the next one and where?

    Did anyone watch th 4x?
that looked horried with loads of people making the mistakes, if you fast forward to the highlights towards the end, that makes some interesting and tense watching

I must be the only one here who genuinely thinks that there was nothing impossible there that didnt have a chicken run!

The point (that you seem to have completely missed) is that Leogang looked much more technically challenging for the riders than for example Fort Bill did.

bang on, it's the first one other than the gap at fort bill where I really wouldn't have liked to ride it, especially not on my little hardtail.

I should point out i was speaking of riding it on a one of their bikes, although id be scared i think i could roll everything there, and use the chicken run on that drop.

Isn't the clue in the fact many more riders came off at Leogang than FW?
But then at Leogang you're not breathing in clouds of bloodsucking insects, so I guess in that respect...

Leogang was also very slimy, whereas Fort bill, was dry for a change, curiously!

But to me, Leogang did look like the tougher track.
