ive only managed about 350-400 miles on my ultremo R1's
did a century sportive last year with them no problem whatsoever, then all of a sudden riding to work i noticed rubber just peeling away as i cycled from the coloured strip. Little to say im now back on my panaracer extreme evo3's with no problems
really dissappointed because i was trying to like them0 -
I have Marathon Pluses on my hybrid and love 'em to bits, but on the recommendation of a chap in Evans tried the Bontrager Race-Lite hardcase tyres on my road bike....
Have now done nearly 2,000 miles on them including the Etape Caledonia and LEJOG and there is almost no wear only a few very small cuts and no punctures (That's the kiss of death, I tell you!).
I appreciate they are not exactly "race" tyres, but for someone of my abilities (ie cr@p) they're fine. And they're a lot cheaper than Schwalbes or Contis

hmmm..... I've got a very cut up P3R that's needs replacing and I've seen that planet-x have got a good deal on these R1s. I was hoping that people's experience was better than this but I guess not. Oh well, looks like I'll just have to pay the extra.0

Depends how poverty stricken you feel but 4 or 5 quid cheaper a tyre on £18 isn't a lot in bold in my opinion!
I've just put Durano S on my commuter - not really sure where these sit i.e are they like a more durable Ultremo or a less durable Durano?!!Faster than a tent.......0 -
