I was very happy with Pro cycle hire in March, friendly shop and nice people to deal with. Bicycle Holidays (http://www.bicycle-holidays.com/) is a much bigger outfit, very quick and a bit cheaper but less personal. They do a nice line in Assos replica stuff :)

I hired a Giant from Procyclehire in February. Great service.
They had stacks of bikes for hire, big selection, including full carbon Massi ones.

m8 no matter who you hire from please do a full check of your bike before riding it, and I mean a full check, go over every nut and bolt also check brake pads. Last point take your own saddle.

I rode there for 10 days in Feb at the Duva hotel, could have stayed forever.

Oh and don't forget your puncture repair kit as the tyres on hire bikes are not the best I have found.

Procycle are good and, for years, were the only place to hire road bikes in Puerto Pollensa

Last year a new outfit opened up a couple of streets away (unhelpfully I can't remember the name).

They hired out Specialized Allez Elite bikes at a good rate and I will be using them again when I go at the end of August (for early or late rides!).

Does anyone know if there are any hire shops near Santa Ponca? And any good routes from that area?

    Quick update.

Hired from Procycle Hire (http://www.procyclehire.com/) - Nothing but good things to say about them. Hired a Massi. They allowed me to pick it up from the shop the night before at 4.30 ish in the afternoon so I was up for an early start.

@ Full Merckx Be interested to see what routes you do... I did a coastal trip : http://tiny.cc/drm0g

    Key:
    A) Procycle Hire
    B) Sandra's Bar (I know them well)
    C) Cap Formentor - Superb coastal ride with amazing switchbacks and views to match.

62k - Back before lunch = Happy Family

(Apparently, a certain Mr B Wiggins has the record for the 'lighthouse and back to the shop' at 1 hour and 7 mins)

I will be going back there.

I used Max Heulizingggerrrr at Caan Picafort (http://www.bicycle-holidays.com/)when I was there last Oct.

All good from me. Agree on the saddle (i forgot). They give you a small saddle bag with a puncture repair kit. I had a Cube Agree Alu with Ultegra components. I think Procycle hire will provide carbon bikes.

They also had some great maps with the routes on.

My one piece of advice would be to take large water bottle with you. I only had one and a small one and on the route I did goign up Sa Slavador there are not many places to get more water etc. Its the onyl time I have ever nearly blacked out coming back into Can Picafort.

Not too hot in July ! Started most rides at 9 from procycle hire, which were excellent. Did the ride to Formentor, ride up to Lluc both straight and also via Selva, ride to Sineu and one to Petra. Best of the lot was up and over to Sa Calobra and back. 7000ft of climbing pretty good day.
  • ]Off to cala 'dor in july, can anyone recommend a good bike hire centre in the area!

    Pro cycle hire very helpful.

Didn't actually rent off them and despite this offered us free use of tools, routes, weather forecasts and couldn't have been more helpful if they tried.

Fantastic shop and excellent service - it clearly is about making sure everyone gets the most of their time there not just making money.

(took our own bikes although was tempted by their rental tandem!)

They have hundreds of bikes and multiple locations. Booking in advance not really an issue.
