I am an experienced sportive rider and dont race but have training towards the Marmotte this year. Was doing fine until recently I have had a severe tummy upset and have been off the bike for the best part off two weeks and still unwell at present.

My last sportive was two weeks ago and was wondering how much fitness I may have lost?

I am due to ride another sportive next weekend and if i recocver I am still planning on riding. Any riders got any tips to speed up recovery when I get back on the bike?

For me 2 weeks off leads to the next ride feeling terrible - I remember last time stopping the bike convinced the brakes were rubbing! Fitness came back quickly though - was back to normal within a few rides.

That's going to hurt :? I reckon on at least a weeks training per week off to get back to the same level as before.
