Not only do they have for example £200 of a Carrera vengance, but then 20% more off them now !!!!
So for example, the TDF road bike is now £279 instead of £449
the Vengance is £263 instead of £550... with my C2W it means i can get the Veng for about £140... that's got to be worth it just to strip for spares if the Meta breaks something lol.
I'm tempted to use my C2W voucher and buy one just for winter instead of getting my Meta dirty.

I don't need a MTB (have a road and a hybrid) but these are so cheap it is silly
Just deciding whether to go for the Vengeance Limited, Kraken or Fury. I realise the Fury is the best bike, but the Vengeance Ltd is only just over £250 after the discount and Quidco, whereas the Fury is just too expensive to be a no brainer type purchase if you know what I mean.0 -

I know exactly what you mean...
i think i'll get a Vengeance tomorrow when this hits the shop side of things.Salsa Spearfish 29er

For a first time MTBer looking around I guess the Vengance would be the ideal starter bike?
I'm torn between that and the Fury, being th cheaper is obviously the appeal0 -

No, I dont know what you mean. The fury is far better and for that price its definitely a no brainer...
Maybe this 20% is to get rid of old stock before they introduce the 2011 range?0 -
What he means is... spending £230 on a Vengeance isn't really a signficiant ammount of money (even less so for me for C2W) but spending £450 on a Fury then becomes more that just an impulse buy and requires a different level of financing/funding.
I can spend £200 without really giving a monkeys, £500 though is a different ball game.Salsa Spearfish 29er

Spot on weeksy, that is exactly what I meant. I know I should buy the Fury, but £230 is an impulse buy sort of amount.
So in the end I end up buying neither, normally.0 -
I'd go for the Kraken personally sitting right in the middle of the Fury and Vengeance (price wise) at £3000
-
The new Carrera range is coming in soon so I'm thinking of getting one while i can!
I've been looking at the Carrera Kraken and Voodoo Bantu for £379. Reckon the Fury is worth the extra money??
The Kraken being £303 now and the Fury £440. I was prepared to pay the £380 tho0 -
I'm far too torn looking at them all right now, aaaargh0
-
I know haha soo annoying but great at the same time!! :?0
-
too fury or to banshee thats my ? suspension or hard tail, light or heavy ?argh0
-
They are all amazing value at their respective price points, nothing much else compares. But the Kraken is well worth the extra 50 quid.
How do you get the quidco thing to work?0 -
just bear in mind with the vengeance, that the front rotor comes as standard as a 180mm, whereas the dart1 fork that it comes with has a maximum rotor size of 160mm.0
-
Blimey! I just flogged a tdf on fleabay last night for not much less than that!...that was good timing!0
-
Im guessing the fury is the best bike overall but does the Kraken have any noticeable bad points?0
-
Not really! The Fury gains a better fork and frame, but for 300 quid the kraken is spectacular value. Just weighing up buying one myself!0
-
LOL i better get to the shop before they all sell out.Salsa Spearfish 29er

Always loved the look of the fury and now its in my price range0

I might have to try and bargain with people on eBay to see if I can grab a slightly cheaper Fury.
Still as a n00b and reading all the reviews its a pain trying to decide0 -

Im in totally the same position! Don't fancy it second hand however0 -
at the price it's at, you may as well buy new, get the warranty, get the 6 week check etc etc.Salsa Spearfish 29er

Looking at the Vulcan ladies for £269 less another 20%, might treat my daughter at the weekend. That's a better spec than I used to ride until 2 or 3 years ago.Northwind wrote: It's like I covered it in superglue and rode it through ebay.0

Just been down to Halfords and spoke to a very helpful guy about the Kraken, in the shops it was still showing the sale price of £379! Without me even mentioning the 20% off on-line, he told me that if I want it, to go home and order it on-line to get an extra 20% off
What a nice guy, not many places would be forthcoming with that info!
@ supersonic he said exactly the same as you putting that bike against the vengeance Thanks again0 -
the 20% in shop price kicks in tomorrow.Salsa Spearfish 29er

I've just been given £70 of Halfords gift vouchers, This 20% off could not of come at a better time, I've been after a new bike for a while and the Fury has always been on my mind it's an absolute no brainer at this price, It's already a great bike at £550.
Just reserved one I'm absolutely chuffed I just hope it's put together well :?0 -
Which would people say was better value? The Kraken at £300 or the Fury at £430?0
