Hey there, just looking for some advice on my training.

I've just signed up for a 400mile cycle around Ulster in 8 weeks time, its to take place over 4 days.
I cycle 4-5 times a week, usually between 50 - 120 miles/ week. Mostly on my road bike, with a 4-5 hour MTB cycle on a sunday most weeks.

I do at least one sportive a month from around now until October usually around 60miles.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for a training plan, or give me any advice on training for this amount of miles day after day.

e.g what i should be doing more of and when?

Any info would be helpful, thanks

Just get your contact points (hands, backside, feet) used to long hours on teh bike you're going to use. Practice eating & drinking all you need whilst cycling. Do back to back rides e.g. a long ride friday evening , long saturday ride AND sunday ride. You'll do it on what you can already but it will be mnore fun if you're prepared.

Check out my weblog (see signature) as I did exactly this in the run up to my TdF ride last year. If you search the blog for "Tour du Nord" which is what I called the event I planned this will find you the event and you can then look prior to that at the kind of training I was doing in the run up to it. I concentrated on shorter harder rides (mainly on my turbo) more than doing loads of LSD stuff and I had no problems, apart from the weather!
