I use the full hit Sport drink on longer rides and the Lite for shorter rides or to have with bars. I keep a gel for a boost but find them pretty harsh. Asda is cheap and handy to get a supply. The beans I have not tried, but have used The Jelly Bean Factory. They are cheaper, £1 a tube and come in 36 flavours. Cinnamon is just nasty.. must be for the US riders! Why tidy the house when you can clean your bike?0

I cannot use the Lite stuff, honestly, I farted round a 30 mile ride whilst using this stuff.
Terrible.0 -
Used to use the is drinks... but they were too sweet and had much too much colour. Stained everything and was too sticky on very hot long rides.
I have now switched High5.. much better IMO, but we are all different. Also a little cheaper.Simon0 -
The beans aren't very tasty and are very chewy but the gels are good - nice consistency and flavour and a bargain (currently on offer for 48p from Tesco)
I dont like them as much as SIS electroliyte gels but they are less than half the price and I use a few gels on my longer rides, so economy rules on this one.0 -
48p?! I hope they sell them locally. What are they like compared to Powerbar gels?CAPTAIN BUCKFAST'S CYCLING TIPS - GUARANTEED TO WORK! 1 OUT OF 10 RACING CYCLISTS AGREE!0

OTOH, glucose syrup is well cheap. You can get refillable gel pouchesCAPTAIN BUCKFAST'S CYCLING TIPS - GUARANTEED TO WORK! 1 OUT OF 10 RACING CYCLISTS AGREE!0

I've been usimg the whole range for about a year: lots of other brands of gel and me don't get on - particularly really concentrated ones.
Bought a 'training pack' off the Lucozade site, which is pretty good value, and has a good selection of bars, gels and powder for drinks. The recovery drink is minging though.0 -
i have used the recovery powder from lucozade and found it very good for my bike ride and running and triathlons, they taste good with water i would recommend0

I use the Locozade gel and energy tablets when on long rides or sportives, but rarely for training. I only use them for the simple reason is Morrisons sell them and they're only 500 years down the road.
I do like the energy tablets as they have a bit of a fizz to them and easily dissolve in the mouth, whereas a cereal bar tends to be far too chewy and difficult to swallow for me.CAAD9

When you have a hangover, it feels like 500 years away
Of course I did mean yards. At least I got the "y", "a", "r" and "s" letters correct. 80% correct ain't too bad for me.CAAD9

Thanks - I found the sport powder/drink has a better taste than lots of other mixing drinks - like the sweetness. Couldn't cope with the gels now use High5 and have started using Squeezy Fruit Gums (mmmmmm) after getting some free with an order from Rose - tried the Jelly bean Factory ones but not for me taste wise whereas the Squeezy ones I have to stop myself eating them all the time!ya still gotta crank it0
