Right firstly and foremost I am not doing a shukur on you all, I am looking at replacing a couple of small bits on my bike and thought I would start with a new seatpost, My question is should i stick with the black and white theme of the bike or should i throw in a splash of colour, if so what colour would go with the B/W? If you think my question sounds like something shukur would ask please tell me and i will shoot myself.#

    Many thanks

Why the seatpost, there's much better things to spend money on tbh? Wheels and forks should be at the top of your list, not seatposts.

Don't worry, your post isn't a 'shukur post'. It doesn't have a list of cheap, heavy eBay items in it and no stupid comments like. 'I might get some Renthal bars as all the good bikes have them. I haven't got any money to buy this and that'.

Nice looking bike fella, as for colourscheme, your bike is black and white which means any highlight colour will suit the rest of the frame. I like anodised red 8)

Also, can we have a closer pic of the Specialized chainstay protector? Where did you get it from? Looks nice :)

Why the seatpost? because it is a part of the bike that i wont run into the ground before replacing like forks and wheels i plan to replace them when the others have had a bit of use and get worn rather than replacing them while they are new, if that make sense.

i have seen a seat post i like the look of....

Lighter than what i have already and a bit more of a looker.

first of all, that won't fit, it's the wrong size. Just weigh the current seatpost first to see if it's actually worth upgrading. Do the handlebars while you're at it. Then you know if it's really worth doing.

yes, as long as they have a 1 1/8th inch steerer, the steerer tube tube is long enough, 100mm travel and a qr axle. They'd be a good upgrade.

good to hear. Having the brake levers at the right angle does make a big difference.

Your wrists will be rolled too far forward and it'll make it harder to control, will drag your eye line downwards when riding etc. Angle them further up.

Ok quick update, not to much has changed since the last pic, I have added some Nobby Nic's 2.25, A new layback seat post (much more comfortable) and a neo guard that seems to do the job well.

I fitted the Nobby Nics tonight and just took it for a quick ride around the block, first impressions are good they are much lighter than my previous captain sports, and on road the seems to be less rolling resistance, the real test will be tomorrow when it gets a proper trip up.

next upgrades will be a new saddle, a new stem (thinking of a 0 degree 75mm) and a nice shinny new set of reba forks.

They are laquered over, you won't be able to remove them ;)

Or have they stopped doing that? :?

You can by some to stick over but they end up peeling off.....

They were not clear coated and have now vanished with the ease of a hair-dryer, I am thinking of adding these

Do not get those stickers, they will just about ruin the look of your forks (and I know they are cheap ;))
I would advise a custom Order from Slik based around These:
    http://www.slikgraphics.com/product/roc ... yle-decals
They do them in any colour... and look great (I have the same on Reba Race's)

Or from CRC pay the hefty sum of £26 for these...

Thanks for the advice, the link you gave me if for the 2010 rebas, i looked for the 2011 ones on there site but they are not available yet, the ones i really wanted are like the one in the pic below, but they only had the ones with the red decal and i really hate red

I meant to post these earlier,
They charge a bit more cause they ship from the US of A, and would cost you £26.98 in the end, but WILL give you the desired decals in the colours that you want.

I have also contacted Slik in terms of a custom order for 2011 Reba RL decals and await a reply...
    Does this help? :P

Okay old chap, I've taken a look and the only thing that has taken my fancy is a set of rim decals, from which I think I can hold off. Its a shame that they don't do components :(
    Thanks anyway mate :D
