Thanks for the ride tonight, couldn't have asked for a better guide.
I'm up for it again anytime, thanks all for waiting for me on the climbs, and putting up with my darth vader like wheezing.

Videos un edited and a bit fuzzy, (down to memory card i think?)

Regarding fuzziness, if you mean the moments where it goes from perfectly fine to a blurry, fuzzy smear for 20 seconds or so, and then fine, then fuzzy - then no, that's not the memory card. I researched into it somewhat when my MD80 clone would do this every time I would enter any shade, go fast, look at dark ground etc. Some info from a google search:The problem with the MD80 cameras is that if you use them for shooting, while holding them or they are attached to a moving object like a car, you will get a lot of the negative sided that are associated with the rolling shutter of the CMOS sensor. The use of cheap CMOS sensor without stabilization is not the best choice as this means you get smear in low light conditions, skew in some panning situations and the most annoying one being the wobble you get due to vibration and movement. This pretty much makes the MD80s unusable in low light conditions or for shooting fast action scenes with the cameras moving
You can see this best in this short clip:

When the light level increases it snaps back into focus, and when you enter the forest, the low light mode snaps on and things get smeary. It looks like a frame rate issue and thus a memory card thing, but it isn't.
Looks great in sunshine though! You appear to get far more battery life out of your camera, my md80 now gives up after 20 mins or so. Probably 'cos of that time I left it charging for a week
I think it was SurferEv asking about where to get one - just search MD80 on ebay. Great for less than £15.0 -
Bugger, just bought a new memory card!
Well it does the job, its not worth me spending loads on a HD cam as I don't do anything nearly gnarley enough to warrant it.
Battery life vary's, sometimes 20 mins sometimes a couple of hours? I take my solar charger with me now for longer rides0 -
FAIL! Yesterday I thought I would go out with the mrs and try and do the same route as the other night! The second we were out of the car park we were lost! We stayed out for 3.5 hours and ended up doing most of the route the wrong way! lol it was fun anyway!0
-
Lol I thought you tracked it?
If you want to do it all again next week let me know;)
Getting my wheel fixed tomorrow to stop all that dam creaking!0 -
Sorry I've been quiet.. Was in meetings all the next day and we've just come back from a long weekend in the 'van with the kids.. (still managed 7.75 miles on one of the days though, seriously hung-over and in the scorching heat)
I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and would definitely be up for a repeat0 -
-
No tracking for me. Just old fashioned useless memory. I'm free any day next week. maybe this time i'll take notes :roll:0
-
Will check with Surfette and post back.
Need to see which evenings she's Zumba-ing, Yoga-ing, whatever-ing0 -
Looks like Tuesday is my available day next week..0
-
I'm free any day next week, is the OP back yet?
Managed to just about remember the way, except one small area - met a guy called Dan tonight, he had all the gear, full face helmet, armour, really nice Intense bike, nice bloke. He helped me find my way.0 -
I think the OP is back this weekend so maybe he can come along too
Are we looking at Tuesday?0 -
-
Sounds good.. As long as we get lots of nice tricky bits and fast downhill runs
Should hopefully have my head-cam by then too..0 -

I think I know Dan, he usually rides with a northern chap called Stu. Really nice fellas and they know their way around.
Am over there Sunday about 9-ish (we ride from the Green Man in Herongate) is anyone is about?0 -
-
Hmmm... Tempted.. We're out tomorrow night and I'm not on driving duty so could be messy....
But I might get my sorry a$$ over there on Sunday morning.. Will have to see though, the boys are staying at Nanny's so it's a rare opportunity for a lie-in0 -
-
Me.... And my brother-in-law too (beginner wanting to get going on his new CUBE)
And looks like it will only be the mud... if the forecast holds..
What time?0 -
-
Sounds good to me.. See ya there0
-
Meant to say... do you mean same as last time? 7:15 arrival for 7:30 set-off...
Only ask as if it's still overcast we'll lose the light early and I'm sure we all wanna get as much time in the saddle as we can
Spoke to OP but he's already arranged to hit Danbury this evening so we'll have to do another one again soon0 -
Yep exactly that, not sure how good I'll be tonight as legs still a bit heavy from Sundays race.0
-
Cracking ride out last night, Chaps!!
Pleasantly surprised with the quality from the little cam too...
Unedited but not too long anyway...
