Two 39 year old's running away from all those young bucks full of spunk??

I know some of the riders are saving their legs for the tour, but it didn't show that on they're faces? Looked like they were working hard to me? ( I may be a bit of skeptic after what has now come out about Armstrong). But is that natural??

I know a lot of Americans must watch the Tour on TV and think that running alongside the riders "is the cool thing to do", but they sure seem to take it to new heights of stupidity over there.

I was surprised to see Andy Schleck unable to climb with Levi and Horner.

That stage last night took me back to the bad old days.

And Matty Busche forcing Schleckette off the wheel? Do me a favour

I have to say I think the parcours this year is pretty good. Less time trialling, a couple of properly selective uphill finishes and some flat stages to keep the sprinters happy.

Unfortunately it's the riders who control how good the racing actually is and for one reason or another nobody could touch Horner and Leipheimer... Great HD pictures though, hopefully the race will continue and next year we'll have a more even field.

When the USA found their hero on Europe roads as you say they then brought that stupidity here.

It's like when you are about to go on holiday - you find yourself eating and drinking everything that's perishable in the fridge to save you pouring it down the sink or binning it. You eat a lettuce like its an apple...drink a pint of milk... chomp on a wedge of cheese.

If the FED's were thinking of raiding the 'shack bus, I think they'll find an empty fridge after that stage.

I had one of them red bikes but I don't any more. Sad face.

Horner certainly looks at least every one of his 39 years! On current form him and Levi must be in with an outside shout at the Tour

Agree with Pokerface on the idiots running alongside the riders, they seem to have taken the worst part of European support and decided to make it worse.

Also, what's with the American teams complaining that the Europeans were controlling the race? Surely that's "the sport of professional bike racing" and it was up to them to do something about it if they don't like it?

Apart from that it has been quite a good race, there is definately potential there as the area offers near perfect country for a cycle race.

Chris Horner didnt mind it though, infact he urged the crowds to get out there if they wanted to attract interest in a US grand tour.

I have to say I enjoyed it, seeing the pope running with 2 sumo wrestlers!!!

And they seemed to keep a respectful distance, unlike the tifosi yesterday when at least 2 got a smack in the mouth.

    Entertaining race though.

The idiot with the horns and US flag would have done my head in the way he kept running in front and seemed oblivious of the carnage the flag trailing behind him could have caused.
